Hi; it’s me!

I just thought l'd give a small introduction on who l am.

I'm GlowOfTheNights, previously on Twitter(@GlowOfTheNights) but decided to move here.

I won't be deleting my account there, but I will move all of my posting to here. That'll mostly be lore theories, drawings, and maybe(most likely not) some short fanfictions. A forewarning, though, I don't post that often.

Although I hope that this paragraph isn't necessary, please, please, do not under any circumstances put any of my posts, drawings, writings in any form of Al.

My (main/current) fandoms are Hermitcraft, the Life Series, and Epic the Musical.

Feel free to use any pronouns for me, I genuinely do not care which ones you use as long as people can understand what you're saying.

not my tweet or my fic (and there’s a good chance of this comment being a bot) but yeah, don’t do this. sure, some writers wouldn’t mind having fanfics (or direct continuation) of their fanfics written by someone else. some may even be thrilled and happy. but the fandom etiquette is that if you want to write a fanfic or a continuation of someone’s fanfic, YOU POLITELY ASK THE WRITER FOR THEIR PERMISSION. not their readers.

also 5 months isn’t long at all. 5 months is 5 minutes when it comes to fanfics. I’ve waited years for my favorite fics to get updated (one of my favorite fanfics was updated by the author after 13 years) and I’ve never said anything to them about “it’s been ___ years, I don’t think it will get updated anymore”. because another fandom / fanfic etiquette is that fanfic writers write for free in their free time, they don’t owe you anything. maybe they will update one day. maybe they won’t. if you want your favorite fic to get updated, you comment something like “this is good!! I’m excited for what happens next” and maybe your positive comment will motivate the author to update. but you don’t say “it’s been ___ months or years”. fanfics writers write for themselves and their own enjoyment. they’re just kind enough to let you read their works for free. stop being rude and entitled to fanfic writers.

I mean that's a Guest comment v clearly fandom baby. I joined fandom at the wise old age of (checks notes) 10. Should I have? Eh.

5 months as a teen brand new to fandom is roughly forever. No it shouldn't be considered abandoned fic but I fear our etiquette is well over 20 years in development and cant be picked up from a month on AO3. Like no u shouldn't continue author's fics without permission but fandom baby does not know this. Fandom baby does not even have a damned AO3 account.

For what it's worth I'm in agreement with OP we have no entitlement to authors works and its rude to bug them but like. That's not an instinct we all have - I very distinctly remember only finding out in an A/N somewhere that it was rude and shitty to beg for more chapters (I thought I was being complimentary yk. 'omg this is so good pls write more i love it' etc.). I don't want to. Defend? Some kid online if they're writing in bad faith but most likely they're writing in ignorance. Which is solvable in fandom via time and education via general osmosis.

It's shitty to pester authors but sometimes ur very stupid and 14. And u don't think it's wrong to continue anothers creator's work without permission bc fanfic is just continuing the original author's work without permission so like how's this different? The answer is community standards and norms and social rules but the new kids haven't been here long enough to pick that up yet.

Idk just. I'm not mad at some idiot online who doesn't know anything I'd mostly just be tempted to pop a comment of my own saying 'hey think you might be new here just letting you know that you need to check in the author's bio if they've given blanket permission for fics to be used in other works! if not then just keep ur fingers crossed: fic can go un-updated for ages and get a surprise new chapter 6 years down the line!' etc.

The name of the game is not to get mad at the new generation for not knowing things we haven't taught them but rather to teach them.

The other commenter here is also brand new their account dates back to Jan of this year. Benefit of the doubt should probably be afforded.

🥚: scrambled with LOADS of cheese or in a cheesy omelet. Basically I can’t eat eggs unless they are buried in cheese lol

🥩: medium rare. preferably with a bunch of fatty bits the fat is the best part

🥛: chocolate. it’s the only way I’ll drink milk. unless I’m dipping a cookie in it

🍷: I don’t drink alcohol because 1. i’m a minor 2. it destroyed my late aunt’s life :D

☕️: hot chocolate also :3

🥛: I only buy whole milk bc that’s what my parents bought growing up (apparently young boys need the extra fat in whole milk? Or something? And I had a lot of brothers?) and other milk tastes icky and thin to me now lol. Also I just don’t really drink milk but I like to have it around for various uses

🍷: I don’t drink :3 there is a mocktail bar in my town I visit occasionally tho

☕: peppermint tea absolutely SLAPS. Also I recently got an herbal chai type mix from a small business at a local craft fair and boy oh BOY
