Not to sound like a space invader, but I love the way that humans all just buy into the muppets and baby Grogu and sesame street characters being real celebrities/beings. That’s just so magical to me. And like we don’t even question it. Like if someone says”they’re just puppets” that kinda gets fake gasps or looked over. (At least from what I have seen) what other form of art/ media can make you get so immersed in the illusion like that. (Maybe WWE? But idk about all that)

Remember a few years ago when everyone just trauma dumped on Elmo or when Larry David hit Elmo on national TV and people got mad? Despite the terrible situation itself I think it’s just so sweet we all get so connected to this art form and see it as real. ✨That’s the real whimsy! ✨

Kermit has been typecasted in the funniest way possible. He loves whenever he gets to do some acting, like in Treasure Island or the occasional sketch on the show. He corrects Piggy's acting choices, too. It's just so funny to me that canonically he's a good actor trying his best to make it in show biz and accidentally became too well known for his charisma and chill factor and ends up landing role after role as Kermit the Frog, who wants to be a star and tries to help his friends achieve their dreams. Even when he gets cast in other roles, it's usually as close to his personality as it can be because he's the most famous Muppet and they want it to kind of feel like Kermit. Checkmate frog you're rich and famous but you still don't get to play the evil oil baron. You can be the frog who gets all his friends together for a show. You dug your grave your own self, sir

and all of that aside from his constant struggle of trying to make sure the press and coworkers and Piggy specifically know that there is a difference between the roles he plays as her lover with a troubled past and his actual love for her and their actual troubled past. really excellent situation for a little froggy blorb

I love how the Muppets are such a chaotic group and Kermit is like the only calm and reasonable one there

One could argue that he's used to the chaos, given he canonically has thousands of brothers and sisters and was born into a massive family

I wonder if he felt a little homesick when he left the swamp, and I wonder if upon meeting the other Muppets, it reminded him of home

What if Kermit finds comfort in such a chaotic group of people, even when they stress him out

In the Muppet Movie, when that guy told him there was an audition for frogs in the paper, Kermit initially tells him, "No thanks, I'm quite happy where I am," which would be in the swamp with said roughly 4,000 siblings (according to one interview.) A lot of people with large families like that would take the opportunity to get away from them, if not just to get a little bit of space and explore themselves as an individual.

Kermit does end up doing that but he finds himself right back into chaos and picks up more oddballs here and there who only feed the chaos and befriends them, probably because that's the scene and the type of people he's used to.

From one large family of thousands right into a new found family that makes him stay up to date on his rabies and tetanus shots and keep money stashed aside in case he needs to bail them out of jail

just finished reading richard hunts biography and now im feeling deeply melancholic about hunt and henson and this era of muppets 😔 i wish they both could have lived 100 more years
