So a lot of times when pieces of media include fan fiction, what their depicting would be, on an in story level, Real Person Fan Fiction. This is how it works with, for example, Ms. Marvel. She's writing fan fiction about her fellow superheroes, who in her world aren't fictional characters, even though the allusion is to fan fiction in our world, where they are.

If The Magnus Protocol wanted to avoid that, the most obvious subject of the in story fan fiction would be Mr. Bonzo, since he's a fictional character within the world of The Magnus Protocol.

Nigel Dickerson's inclusion would push it closer to RPF, though, since Nigel seems to have been like Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Show, where he was playing a fictional character but under his own name.
