Show announcement and Peek of my pieces. This Saturday 7pm in Eau Gallie, FL. Tim C Shubert had an amazing concept and let each of us choose pages from a book of #crimescenephotos in the early 1900s. The photos are black and white and will be displayed with the works. I did 2 pieces - but (I’m not sure they will both make the limited display space. I’ll post full pics later). Translating the stark, clinical feel of the black and whites into paint made me feel a connection to these unfortunate souls. The first was a man dragged into a dark space and abandoned. I painted him with a grittier textural feel in oils and wax on Masonite. The second, a woman, I painted in a more expressive way in acrylics focusing more on her departure than her actual demise. She struck me as someone with dignity and the old Baptist hymn that says “I’ll fly away” kept running through my head... and I’m not a church & hymnal type. So come see how each artist interpreted their photo in Eau Gallie FL. I look forward to hearing your reactions. #spacecoastflorida #eastcoastart #artshow #eaugallie #eaugallieartsdistrict #eaugallieart #newyork #newyorkcity #newyorkphotos #gmluttrell #gmluttrellart #murdermystery #availableart #unsolvedmysteries #forgotten #outsiderart (at Eau Gallie, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu_eBd6Akas/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1cy7rheidfxrh
