Some Faculty Advisors do not know each other at all and do not know what classes are offered.

HI! i saw that you were answering questions about GMU and I was wondering if you knew anything about the global/community health undergrad program? And where do students live if not living in a dorm (apartments on or off campus)? Thanks in advance!

I've had a lot of questions about Mason and the different things to do there.

If anyone has any advice, please comment here or message me and I'll post it!

The comments could be about: food, dorms, parties, parking, commuting, living on campus, majors/minors, teachers/faculty, general atmosphere, construction, cost, buildings, tips for freshmen, tips for transfers, why people should/shouldnt come to GMU, etc.

If by "knock-off Panera bread" you mean La Pat - La Pat is ace and Panera has nothing on La Pat. Furthermore, they're opening an actual Panera in the JC where the computer store used to be.

Oh yeah, I love La Pat but I just needed something to compare it to ;)

Strongly considering attending GMU, is the campus really dry & boring as people say? I heard the "commuter campus" rep is false now b/c thousands of students live on campus apparently. I admire that Mason is a well respected school & is definitely going to be competing with Tier 1 schools like UVA soon. Thats why it's at the top of my list.. but I'm also looking to get that college experience since I've been at community college for my first two years. How's campus life? Parties? Etc thanks!!!

Yeah it’s definitely got a lot of commuters but a lot of people live on campus too. Nobody is gonna come and make you participate in events, you have to make the initiative by joining groups/clubs, going to events, etc. There is definitely enough though!

I’ve heard some rough stories about transferring to GMU from comm. colleges because of credit transfers so you may want to talk to other people who have transferred about that!

As far as parties, there’s plenty of drinking and such if you find the right friends but a lot of parties are off campus.

It’s really about who you know!

Campus is beautiful and has eating-options like Taco Bell, Chick Fil A, Freshens, Chinese, Indian, Einsteins Bagels, Starbucks, Pizza, Panda Express, a knock-off Panera Bread, Buffets, and a few more options. A lot of them are closed on the weekends though :/.
