I'm new to the Ride the Cyclone fandom and I just found out in most productions, Mischa's mother is dead????

I saw the London production on Sunday (I went in completely blind) and in that, his mother is a failing DJ who sends her son to Canada because she doesn't have enough money to raise a child

So I was pretty confused about his mother being dead in all fanfic, only to find out that it's canon most of the time!

spot talks like that video where it's a guy who used to be a supervillain and never dropped the speech pattern. sounds like a mob boss everything's got vaguely threatening undertones but he is being so sincerely nice and nobody knows what to do with it

MODERN AU HEADCANONS BECAUSE IF I POSTED THEM ALL SEPARATELY I'D SPAM THE TAG-

- Albert and Race's favourite film is Pitch Perfect, and yes, they sing and dance along every time they watch it

- Katherine's bag has literally everything in it. Davey has started calling her Mary Poppins because it's literally never ending

- Crutchie collects pokemon cards. He doesn't know how to play, but he has a whole ass collection of these

- The Jacob's have a pet snowshoe cat called Duke. None of them know how old he is. He could be 100 for all they know

- The group purposely gets Jack birthday cards with the wrong age on it. He has cards with 11, 28, 53, 68, and 42 on it

- Race pierced Spot's ears with a paper clip once, and it got infected. Medda had to bring them to the hospital

- Albert hates trousers and will wear shorts all year long, no matter the weather

- Specs is extremely competitive when it comes to board games and has started many arguments with Romeo over monopoly

- Jack has owned the same paint set since he was 14 and is somehow still using it

- David's favourite snack is cool ranch doritos. He literally won't eat any other flavour, it has to be cool ranch flavoured

- Medda is the music teacher and is head of the school musical every year. David is the stage manager, Katherine is on tech and Jack's on sets

- Spot loves true crime podcasts, but not only ones about murders, he loves one's about major heists and such as well

- Katherine is a very talented gymnast and is probably stronger than most of the Newsies

- Race is very bad at knowing when to shut his mouth. He'll try to save himself from an argument with somebody but will end up making the situation much worse for himself

- Davey paints Jack's nails frequently, with different colours every time

- Elmer is the kid who pours glue on his hands, waits for it to dry and then peels the thin layer off

- Les's favourite sweets are Maoam Pinballs. Sarah and Davey are disgusted by this because they're way too sweet for them

- Oscar and Morris sit alone at lunch and barely speak with anybody aside from each other. Everybody is ever so slightly intimated by them and frankly, don't want to speak with them

my favorite thing about modern au ralbert is that al doesn’t really dress outwardly queer he’s just like yeah. tee shirt with the sleeves cut off and baggy jeans and maybe a flannel if he’s feeling fancy. straight boy chic. and he’s dating urban dictionary’s definition of a twink
