About 3 months after I joined Goatlings, I don’t think I was that active on the forums yet, but AdmiralBoo gifted me at least 6 or 7 ADs I wanted. I still don’t understand, why me, but they were so kind. I never felt so welcomed on a site before, and I think that’s one of the main reasons I ended up staying.

I’m sorry it seemed that way? I wasn’t aware Valkyries were female, so I do appreciate you letting me know. I still think those three designs were nice, since I am allowed to express what appeals to me. However, I will correct my vote for the contest since they don’t fit the theme. 

See? Easy fix. I’m still learning, and I think it’s a little unfair that it’s automatically assumed that I’m making an “informed misogynistic man-bro bullshit” opinion. I used hardcore because, to me, that described that specific design.

If I understand correctly, people are upset that MOST of the seasonal items HAVE to be obtained through the Token Game.  If people don’t trade, auction or stalk the forums for whatever reason, their options are severely limited.  In one sentence, having a few less items in the game in exchange for some shop accessible items might be a better idea.

Well, in order to be masculine, something doesn’t need to be ULTRA RUGGED WITH A BEARD ON ITS BEARD AND A RIPPED CAMO SHIRT. I’ve seen some beautiful male designs whose main attributes were tuxedoes and maybe a bit of shag here and there. Hell, I’d risk saying that the Aries and Socialing designs are perfect examples of balanced, masculine-yet-not-macho designs. Even some of the shopkeepers are adorable examples of traditionally masculine goats (look at the Pawn Shop goatling!), and they don’t look like Rob Liefeld drew them, now do they?

Saying that “masculine” is a contraposition of “feminine” or “neutral” is a pretty backwards mentality. If anything, they’re complementary elements. What I’d like to see isn’t the MANLIEST GOAT EVER, but a goat that implements darker palettes, sober themes and sharper angles with different wardrobe styles.

You’re implying that “goatlings”+”masculinity” is an impossible combination without a radical overhaul, and that’s not true, sorry.

I agree. First, I would like to add that masculine does not directly correlate to male. For me, personally, it does, but I’m one user. I’m sure there are people who identify differently and still might like more masculine things. 

That said, I love the site and I love the graphics, so it’s not like I can go and find an EXACT site that might be more willing to expand its representation. I don’t want more masculine things than non-masculine things, but I sometimes feel like I don't have much of a place. Like nogoatlina said, Socialling or even Aries could possibly be seen as traditionally masculine instead of BEEFY-BARA-HOO-AH! Variety is nice. There are a lot of beautiful designs, but that really limits the potential.

I wanted to go with a warm goat for summer, so I referenced ghost crabs and sand for this one. A strong pose for a motivated sign, along with rubies, silver, and yellow. There's a very vague constellation on the shell.
