Ever since Adrien started calling Marinette their Everyday Ladybug, Nino started calling Gabriel their everyday Hawkmoth.

what if there was a reporter interviewing ladybug, and they asked if she was dating chat. then she responds that she has a bf, and the reporter goes, what’s his name. then lb says joe. the reporter asks, who’s joe. lb says joe mama, and swings away, leaving behind a dying cat.

not that anyone asked but….here are 10 of my favorite ML fics from this year! all of these were posted or completed in 2020. and i am limiting myself to one fic per author but i could probably recommend multiple things from each author so please check out their other stuff as well :D

1. whose woods these are (I think I know.) by Reiaji (105k, complete)

ladrien cinderella au. i’ve rec’d this a lot haha but it’s literally one of the best pieces of fiction i’ve ever read in my life. reaiji’s writing style is one that just stays with you and this story is beautifully developed and conveyed

2. Written in the Stars by @botherkupo​ / Boogum (46k, complete)

a god au. i guess it’s technically marichat but the vibes are more adrienette-y? anyway it’s sooo good and has everything—drama, mystery, romance, action, fluff, angst…chef’s kiss

3. Charcoal Lines by @gabriel-agreste-has-no-rights​ / Taliax 

this fic is everything to meeeeee peak marichat and i laughed so dang hard and then wonderful marichat-y adrienette and an amazing reveal aaaa!!!!

4. This can’t be happening by @amiraculousplatypus​ / PlaPla (6k, wip)

Summary: Eleven year-old Marinette woke up to find her cheek pressed into cold cobblestone. (In which a poor baker’s girl inherits the bloodline of an ancient deity, a prince steals his father’s life from right underneath him, and the gods clash in the sky as nothing becomes the same.) —————————————————————- This is a very unique story not only among miraculous ladybug fanfics but also just fanfics in general. This story attempts what I can only describe as a game of thrones type world with enormous effort having been put into the characters, the world building, everything. The updates aren’t quick, but I really have hope about where this fic is going to go. The two sisters that write it are so ambitious in everything they do for their story and they’ve really dedicated themselves to this story so if for no other reason, check it out to support them :) As for the actual plot, I’m interested. How the characters have been set up, I think it was done well and I’m definitely looking forward to Adrien meeting Marinette ;). Also I’m very intrigued by the summary of this fic and what it means for Adrien’s plot because phew that sounds badass. Basically: a very ambitious fantasy story where Alya and Adrien are royalty of two different kingdoms, marinette is a prisoner of Alya’s kingdom for her possession of Tikki, and Nino is a hot knight that works for Adrien’s kingdom ;) Btw you can follow the authors @princessfroppy and @dirtblock666

imagine a scenario where chat bought phones for ladybug and him so they could text out of the suit to just that number and not worry about the slim chance they knew each other irl (how crazy is that smh) and they end up texting each other all through classes, at the end of day right before patrols, right after attacks just to check in with each other when they can. and one day there’s an akuma attack and marinette and adrien end up getting trapped together and marinette’s like “haha isn’t this CRAZY i have to text someone immediately” because she knows chat has to be out there all alone with an akuma.

but she’s sending text after text and getting no response all while adrien’s phone is going off like crazy. and she goes, “oh adrien dw you can answer that! i don’t mind!” and he’s like “uh…huh sure one sec” and quickly taps out a reply

and then marinette’s phone buzzes.
