The long and short of it: cultural appropriation should never be tied to another form of discourse. Appropriation is appropriation no matter which group is doing it, and we need to be able to talk about this genuinely, without turning it into some excuse to hate endogenic systems, which is what some people do. Both pro and anti endos can handle this topic as less of actually caring about the practice, and more to “own” the other side, and that’s like.... not cool. Racism and disrespect of other cultures should not just be a token or reason to get back at other people you don’t like, it should be something genuinely respected.
We need to listen to people from other cultures, especially in a time like this, and we should be able to be both pro endogenic while also respecting closed practices and cultures that are not ours to use.
