though free time was a misnomer for the few hours a day that he attention wasnât being sapped by his clients, over time, leon had become more & more grateful of the concept of the weekend. regardless of the fact that not everyone felt as if the weekend was a time of rest, most of his client fell silent until monday, so his workload was significantly lighter than what he was used to juggling. it was rarer still, than his time to himself that he was forced to carve from his schedule, that he arrived home before alessia. looping back out of their bedroom, he was startled to be face to face with a rather impressive bouquet of roses on their coffee table. picking up the creme colored card he was even more taken aback to realize that it was signed from himself. looking at the calendar on his phone, he realized that the upcoming school year was upon them. mild shock, but overall impressed by his own foresight, he attempted to replace the card but was PRICKED by a thorn. licking away the drop of blood that welled on the pad of his finger, the front door clicked open & he picked up the vase with his left hand.
leon rounded the corner into the kitchen and placed the flowers on the counter next to the familiar pizza box from his favorite place. âhave i told you, lately, that i love you?â he had opened his arms to welcome her home but his grin faltered. âyou what?!â he never knew how alessia managed to happen on such things, but her days always seemed far more interesting than his own - corner office looking over the city be damned. âare you okay?â
after the chaos that occurred after running her errands, alessia had wanted nothing more than to go home, but she still had a few stops to make. usually she made dinner at home but decided against that idea and to grab a pizza from that one place leon liked. she had almost forgotten to grab the pizza in a rush to get away from everything and return home to her boyfriend and dogs. she had also opted to buy a bottle of wine to forget about the days events. she was intending to drink the whole bottle itself. watching thorne get hit by a car was still on a loop in her head.
the blonde was about to comment on the flowers, but was cut short while he asked about thorne. âit was thorne. i literally helped him escape the scene of the accident! it was insane and stressful,â she replied, walking into his open arms. âbut i do love you too, by the way. that was hectic and why i picked up the bottle of wine. i need it for my sanity.â
