DISCORD PHISHING SCAM

I cottoned on before the hacker got any farther than this, but my brother confirmed outside of Discord that his account was hacked through this scam- It scraped all of his passwords.

That's not even saying anything about what patients have to deal with. Most Alternian doctors just want to use you as a test subject, or just outright torture you. There's strict rules against this in major hospitals, since the Fleet needs some of those, but then you have to deal with a lot of Empire surveillance and good fuckin' luck if you're a mutant. Or a psionic with abilities the Fleet might want. Or a criminal. Ect..

Lowbloods usually get priced out of treatment. Highbloods usually face judgement and treatment pushback since they should be healthy and strong and if they aren't, they deserve to die. (Highbloods can usually afford to hunt for a good doctor, though.) Midbloods tend to wind up getting both short ends, being priced out of extensive treatment and dealing with doctors telling them they're too high up on the food chain to be having health issues.

I headcanon that the Alternian healthcare system is just an absolute nightmare. The Empire standard for care and technology is pretty behind the curve and a lot of the more fantastical or cutting-edge technology pretty much just stays in the hands of whoever developed it.

Sometimes that tech might be utilized for the Fleet but in terms of being accessible or even known about anywhere on Alternia? Good luck, bud.

There's all these privatized clinics/organizations that develop their own shit and use it for themselves, and even if they put it out for free use it likely doesn't spread very far, especially if they aren't an Empire-endorsed organization. Not to mention, there are so many niche abilities/psionics that make some of these developments possible that they can't be reproduced elsewhere. Ex; The regeneration serum based off Thrixe's cells.

This is one of Garnet's frustrations. He knows that the tech/ability to heal his face is out there, but he has no direct knowledge or access to it, and sweeps of trying to turn it up have failed.
