Momento Mori. Unus Annus. Rest in Peace ;^;
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR TUMBLR TO FIND THIS.
what th
I’VE BEEN TRYING TO find this again for THREE YEARS but once Free! came out I couldn’t google ANIME SWIMMING CLIP ANYMORE
Who would even go through the process of animating this
I live with my abusive grandparents. Would anyone know how one might use psychological warfare on a couple of frigid, bigoted elderly people that wouldn't hurt them physically, but would simply confuse and annoy them to the point of insanity
Olm Post
I love these wiggly eyeless noodle babies. Also known as proteus anguinus, human fish, or baby dragons, this species of neotenous salamander is found in the alps, swimming around in caves. Or more like not swimming around, because olms don’t like to move around. They can last up to ten years without eating food, and some can live up to one hundred years! They’ve also been shown to prefer sitting in crevices with the company of other olms to being alone. I want to see more olms represented. I want people to know about them
They're beautiful, thank you
What is your opinion on inflatable pillows?
when i was 16 i was obsessed with building and designing my own home. i watched youtube videos about laying the concrete foundation and layman’s guide to blueprints and how to hang a suspended ceiling with fancy ass moulding. idk i was a teenager, it made me feel in control.
the thing is, i was also super duper into inflatable furniture. this was a better day and age when pinterest didn’t exist, but i had folders and folders of pictures saved with examples of the wonderful, incredibly comfortable and presumably bounceable furniture that would fill my future home.
the problem was even at 16 i had pretensions tastes. now most inflatable furniture is neon and filled w/ glittery, right? like this stuff.
which is wonderful and extremely tasteful and even years later i would love to have a house like that. sadly, at the time i was obsessed with being a fancy mature adult, so instead i chose the most depressing suburban monochrome mcmansion version of inflatable furniture possible. this is one of the few true shames i still carry regarding my teenage years.
i had a data loss so i don’t have any of the concept art from all those years ago, but here’s a quick moodboard of the glass-and-chrome greyscale hollywood mansion buffoonery i would have locked myself away in by choice at age 16 if it had been up to me:
none of it’s even neon. what a fucking embarrassment
I had a similar thing going around age 12.
I also had the idea of building my own home (probably containing inflatable furniture) but mine was a farm.
The idea was to move to australia, build an underground home in the middle of nowhere, and farm emus.
As a side project, the emus would be trained and rented out for parties. To sweeten the deal, I was planning on making some of the birds wear top hats and fake mustaches.
My mom brought up the question of “how do you get the birds to keep the fake facial hair and hats on?”
My response, “Glue and training”.
I’m not exactly sure what shit I was on to think that the birds would be cool with that, then again I was seeing shadow people stalking me around that time from lack of sleep.
There was going to be a skylight under the bird pen so that they could in theory be seen without having to leave the house, and a hose system to keep the glass clean.
For several years I drew out diagrams and designs, will the help of the internet, and kept them in a binder. Sadly all the drawings are long gone, but I do still have the binder and house is misspelled on the label.
I still want to live on a farm, the city is too noisy.
….could someone draw concept art of emus w/ facial hair?
You’re welcome.
Holy shit

I agree
2021 probably won’t be any better
nah hon, don’t think that way. we’ll be closer to a vaccine by the end 2021, for one thing, not to mention the progress made in experimental treatments. Also, the most traumatic period of adjustment is over; I don’t want to downplay the reality of living in the age of quarantine and social distancing, but this all came out of what felt like nowhere back in March. Everything went from Normal one month to Full Blown Panic the next. At least we’ve had time to adjust to this strange new normal–at the very least I don’t see 2021 bringing the emotional whiplash that early 2020 gave us.
Socially, we’ve also had more time to build resources, such as technological skills & apps to help us get through this. people of all generations are more comfortable socializing online right now, and those skills are going to get stronger as we go. We also have better safety protocols in place, and we have a lot more information about a new and scary disease that we knew almost nothing about before. 2020 has been devastating, but a lot of important work has been done, by researchers & front-line workers & teachers, and I’m hopeful that we’ll start to see more of the benefits of that investment and preparation down the line in 2021.
And if we manage not to screw up this election, we also get to look forward to:
an economic stimulus package from a government that would prefer not to see us all homeless or dead. that means fewer at-risk workers being forced to chose between their lives (or their families’ lives) & their livelihoods.
immediate significant investment in science, medicine, disease control, etc. remember how one of Trump’s first acts in 2016 was to defund the CDC? this is the administration that doesn’t pull that shit
a government that listens to scientists, and doesn’t use the media to obfuscate info & endanger lives for the sake of manipulating the stock market. we can expect adherence to (basic fucking) safety measures. and when covid rates do start to die down, we can expect fewer people to die bc of a second wave when the government ignores the science and opens things up too soon.
To be clear, things aren’t going to go back to our old normal in 2021 (or hopefully ever, bc this pandemic has shown just how many ways our ‘normal’ needs to change). But it’s not naïve to hope 2021 will bring some sorely needed good news. 2020 has been fucking rough. 2021 will bring its own challenges. But there are good things to look forward to, and there’s nothing wrong with clinging to that. Give yourself permission to hope, before you forget how.
“Give yourself hope, before you forget how.”
“We should repurpose Ronald Reagan’s grave as a gender-neutral bathroom.”
Yes, those two are from the same person.
i find the 2nd statement to be incredibly full of hope and optimism!!!
I appreciate this but you just can’t hide these in the tags.
I wish I could share your optimism. But the majority elected against Trump and he still got in, because the government wanted him there. Another four years is almost guaranteed, maybe both of him and Covid. But I pray to gods I don't even believe in that you're right.
