SF/DAWTDE head canon:

after Avery respawns, it's in the over world. he frantically runs back to the mines, but all he finds is a chunk that will not load, and the hill around it. the King was the only thing keeping this seed together, and as he pours into D3's mind, it begins to rapidly deteriorate.

certain blocks stop placing. chests won't open. books go blank. the sky is daytime at one moment, then snaps into night and never changes back. the moon is gone, the mobs make noises that do not correspond with their species. creepers moo and cats cry like ghasts.

avery logs off in a panic and tries to return. the first instance, the world glitches into a normal looking seed due to the code shifting, and disconnects him. the second instance, the code has been eaten too short and he cannot connect at all.

every glitch and deletion is another five hundred miles the king has drilled into D3's brain, like a heart monitor going through a series of spikes and critical lows before it silences.
