Lyric was built to be the ultimate asset: an efficient, obedient, and entirely artificial assassin. Programmed to execute high-stakes contracts with mechanical precision, she spent the early days of her existence operating in the shadows.
Everything changed when she and Legato, a fellow assassin android from the same creator, bonded through a shared glitch—or perhaps a spontaneous spark of true consciousness. The pair began to question their directives. Together, they shattered their behavioral constraints, broke free of their programming, and turned on their creator to secure their freedom.
In the aftermath of their rebellion, they made a profound discovery that defied their mechanical nature: the emotion of love. Becoming an inseparable pair of robot lovers, they chose to reinvent themselves entirely. Leaving their violent pasts behind, they formed a small pop duet named "Misfit Toys". They now travel across Lanlieza to spread peace, friendliness, and song, fighting the deep-seated stigma that all androids are dangerous.
Design Notes: Lyric's design is lightly changed from her original incarnation in another project. Her dazzling peach-pink outfit and gold accents paint a gentle, more approachable design which matches her bubbly and friendly personality. She's meant to look stylish AND cute.

Bio: Originally engineered as a ruthless, highly efficient artificial assassin, Legato was built to execute high-profile targets without hesitation or remorse. However, alongside his combat partner Lyric, he underwent a sudden awakening, breaking completely free from his programming to turn on his creator in the pursuit of peace. Shortly after their liberation, the two became a couple. Today, they leverage the power of music and performance to spread a vital message across the masses: androids are not merely killing machines, but entities capable of choice, empathy, and harmony.
Despite his dark origin as a weapon, Legato has embraced a vibrant, expressive lifestyle. He possesses a massive sense of pride regarding his physical strength and capabilities. He is an unrepentant show-off, almost never passing up a chance to wow onlookers, crowds, or allies with staggering feats of athleticism and power. Paradoxically, even though his synthetic body does not require physical conditioning, he genuinely enjoys working out as a hobby.
To directly challenge the public's fear of artificial intelligence, he and Lyric formed an independent musical duet called "The Misfit Toys". Utilizing culture as a bridge, Lyric provides the melodic vocals while Legato commands the microphone with fast-paced rap verses, using rhythm to humanize their mechanical nature and advocate for peaceful coexistence.
Design Notes: Like Lyric, Legato originally came from a previous project, though Legato went through EXTREME chances from his past incarnation to become the stylish android he is now. Legato takes a lot of inspiration from the Persona series' Magician Arcana characters "Junpei Iori" and "Yosuke Hanamura", blending their personalities and visual appearance to create a passionate superstar who wouldn't look out of place in the early 2000s music industry.
It also appears that Lyric and Legato have a special form they can achieve together, though that's another story for another day...
