i feel like these two don’t get enough appreciation together so headcanon list time.
(hey, guess what? beetlebabes? not for you. bye bye)
again, there may be repeats from my other lists. however, i try my best to add a bit more to them every time i repeat them.
also, cw for mentions of abuse and drugs. (juno was a Bad Mother to beej, and delia’s family isn’t the best, and they do drugs sometimes)

- delia and beej have a lot in common in terms of their past trauma. (abandonment issues, anxiety problems, trust issues, and more. both stem from their families and last relationships)
- since beej can’t go to a therapist, him and delia set up a schedule at home where they both talk out their problems to each other. occasionally, one of their partners is brought in for an “outside perspective” (lydia is very occasionally brought in, but it’s mostly to reassure beej that she’s still his friend when he gets anxiety about it. they’re not about to dump their problems on a 15 year old)
- these meetings take place on the back porch before dinner. if someone else hears them talking, they’ll walk away - they’ve all agreed to never listen in on the conversations unless asked to.
- delia and beej really like to watch reality & competition shows. most nights during everyone’s “de-stress” time, they can be found on the couch with snacks and wine (occasionally something stronger) either gossiping or yelling at the tv (reality tv and competition shows respectively)
- barbara and adam occasionally join in on this. charles has a few times, but only when they watch reality tv (delia and beej scare him when they yell at the tv sometimes.)
- the back porch is also used for the nights the 2 heavily imbibe (alcohol, nicotine, weed, and in beej’s case, more addictive drugs since they can’t really kill him.) the do this on bad nights, and it usually ends up with them just sitting and holding each other after venting/ranting.
- however, they do occasionally smoke on normal days (when lydia isn’t there) adam and barbara are usually down to join them, but charles is still on the edge about it sometimes. however, with all 5 of them they have a tendency to eat a lot and then all retreat to bed. (either for cuddling or sexy time)
- the two really like gossiping. beej accompanies delia to pta and community events (posed as a “family friend”) and they look through the town’s moms facebook group and just. gossip about everyone and everything.
- beej happens to have a bit of talent when it comes to sculpting. delia helps him work on it, and he eventually makes things he’s really proud of. (a few are even put in a gallery and sold)
- they make a pretty solid team during family game nights (beej and lydia are the dream team, but they’ve been banned from being partners in some games because they’re Too Good)
- they go out and try on clothes a lot. delia teaches him how to put together outfits, and he (attempts) to help her pick new ones.
- beej needs one or more partners with him if he showers/bathes. when it’s him and delia, it’s usually a bubble bath with a bath bomb, and lots of oils to make everything smell nice. they just kinda. cuddle in the tub for a while and relax. (sometimes it escalates a bit, but the atmosphere is just so calm that it usually doesn’t.)
- when it’s delia’s Time Of The Month, beej is literally her personal servant: he will get her anything she asks for.
- they both just. really love each other, and were good friends even before they all started dating.

- ok so it’s been established that both of them are kinky little shits.
- they both really have a lot of fun trying to get their 3 pretty vanilla partners into their kinks.

- they’re also both really into edging and denial. once, they had the whole house to themselves to the day, and about 80% of it was just spend edging each other. when everyone else got back (maitlands had spent enough time around beej to have the power to leave the house for a day or two here and there) they were blissed out and pretty much unable to move from their spot cuddled under the blanket.
- beetlejuice and delia make full use of his shape shifting powers (something they’ve been easing the other 3 into)
- delia and beej will go out to strip clubs/night clubs together, and dance and party for hours. (however they only mess around between the 2 of them - they love their partners too much to do that.)
- charles has definitely had to bail delia and beetlejuice for drunken shenanigans a few times. this usually ends up with the other 3 “punishing” them (assuming lydia isn’t home)
- they just. click together really well in general. they love each other (and their partners) a lot.
sorry this is kinda short, but i feel like i’ve mentioned a lot of this stuff in my other lists, and i don’t want to get too repetitive.
soft headcanons

these are just some misc. soft headcanons of these 5 because like. i love them.
(i know there may be some repeats in my lists, but that’s usually because i’m elaborating on them a bit more, or i think they’re pertinent to the list.)
- delia and beetlejuice talk about their pasts a lot. a lot of the time they can be found cuddled on the couch or in bed after. unless it’s a particularly bad day, everyone else lets them have their time.
- just because beetlejuice is dating literally all of her (current) parents, doesn’t mean lydia and beej aren’t still friends. beetlejuice makes sure that they have time to hang out every day, and spends at least one day a week doing whatever the fuck lydia wants to do. (lydia wants to go out in the middle of the night to go get pictures of the graveyard? you’ll bet beej is gonna untangle himself from his partners at 1 am to take her.)
- when bj is out with lydia, the couples do one of 2 things usually: they either hang out all together, or they break up into seperate couples in order to spend time together. (they did marry for a reason y’know. they may love their partners a lot, but they still need some time together.)
- the entire family goes to pride. charles is the shyest one there as he’s never gone, delia and beej have gone to pride many many times in their pasts, the maitlands have gone to a few smaller ones, and lydia is just super excited to be at her first pride. (she brings along a few of her friends so that they can walk around together)
- the 5 are really happy that they can actually act like a couple for once. (while lydia’s off with her friends. she doesn’t like seeing the adults do anything coupley, “that’s gross guys, ew.”)
- beetlejuice uses his power to keep the 2 ghosts in the physical plane during pride for the most part. it’s exhausting, but it’s worth it to see his partners so happy.
- cuddle piles happen often. every person in the house loves them, whether they admit it or not (aka lydia and charles)
- due to the couches just Not having enough space for everyone splits up into pairs for family movie nights. (usually it’s the couples and beej & lydia, but they can change sometimes.)
- the couples each get a couch, beej and lydia pile blankets and pillows on the floor to make a makeshift nest (they maintain that it’s 5x comfier than the couches anyways)
- they get beetlejuice to shower/bathe (semi) regularly, however one or more of his partners has to do it with him, due to his fear of water. (it has something to do with juno, although no one is completely sure what happened.)
- he loves bath bombs. besides the fact that it’s fun, it’s also a sensory thing that makes the baths much more bearable.
- as loud as beej is, sudden loud noise & loud noise & a crowd of people is Torture for him. everyone knows to stick close to him in loud crowds just in case. (he really appreciates it: he struggled with it for A Long Time seeing as parts of the netherworld are super super crowded)
- beej likes playing instruments, and will keep track of what everyone is listening to and will learn it on an instrument and play it for them. (occasionally he plays love songs for his partners. they cry almost every time.)
- delia and lydia share a big interest in the supernatural and herbal medicine. (however they know that doctors are necessary for big things. delia and lydia say Vaccinate Your Fucking Children.)
- beej goes bird watching with charles because he can mimic the birds & turn into them in order to attract more. (this backfires occasionally as birds sometimes try and get.... frisky with him.)
- delia, barbara, and adam like to create/make art together. beetlejuice sometimes joins them, and even though it’s usually not that good, they appreciate everything he makes for them. (although, he surprisingly has a decent amount of skill in sculpting.)
- charles and lydia occasionally go into the city together and go to places they used to frequent when they lived there. the others are usually ready to cuddle the two when they get home
- they do one big group halloween costume every year, and run the best and scariest haunted house for miles (courtesy of the 3 ghosts and 1 goth child)
- when lydia eventually goes off to college, all of them cry. a lot. (whenever charles and delia visit, beej uses his power to bring the maitlands with him on a summons via lydia after the deetzs get to her college)
- she summons beetlejuice occasionally and they Wreak Havoc on the campus.
- everyone just. cares about each other a lot. they would all die (in some cases, die again) for each other in a heartbeat.

Sorry that this took so long! I have always loved their family dynamic and even though I don’t really ship them romantically, this was fun to make headcanons for!

Her reasoning was “Adam and Barbara are already second parents to Lydia plus they are really sweet and good looking people.”
Beetlejuice wasn’t asked to be included in the relationship until he reappeared from the Netherworld
It had been a month or so after he moved back in when they shot him the question
At first he believed they were joking and laughed at the suggestion
When he realized they were serious, he became extremely cautious around them, worried it was another trick to get him banished to the Netherworld again
It took months of talking and doing nice things for him to make him realize they weren’t going to hurt him again
When he finally got comfortable enough around all of them, he began to slowly show different types of affection towards them. Like hand holding first, then hugs, then cuddling, then more NSFT stuff as they got more and more comfortable with each other.

(a bunch of these are kinda like an interconnected au, but there’s also some random ones so)
cw warning: mentions of abuse! (i’m talking about beej’s past with juno, and it wasn’t a good one)
- beetlejuice returns about a month or so after the events of the musical. he strolls (read: heelys) in when everyone is in the living room one night, with a starbucks in hand. after a very long talk, he’s allowed to stay. (charles wants him Gone, lydia is kinda happy to have her friend back, the maitlands are just super iffy about him, and delia knows there’s more to him than they think)
- delia could see a lot of red flags for abuse in beetlejuice’s behavior. after they know each other a bit better, she confronts him about it. it’s a struggle, but he eventually starts talking to her about it.
- lydia helps beej try and convince charles and the maitlands that he’s not all that bad. (it kinda works, although there were definitely more than a few mishaps.)
- after a few weeks of sessions with delia, he eventually sits the members of the house down and opens up about it. (lydia hugs him A Lot)
- charles and the maitlands don’t instantly forgive him, but they at least see that he’s truly trying. (it also makes them all realize exactly why he had acted the way he did. didn’t excuse it, but they understood it a bit more.)
- slowly but surely, charles and the maitlands warm up to beetlejuice (with the maitlands really warming up to him, and realizing that the demon has a Very Large crush on them.)
- the demon in question quite definitely has a very big crush on the maitlands (and delia and charles, although he’s not about to let them figure that out. he would be Devastated if he lost delia as a friend, and/or set back his progress with charles)
- about 5 months after the demon comes back, him and the maitlands end up dating. it’s a very tentative thing in the beginning, but they realax into it soon enough. after they’re sure it’s not going to fall apart, they tell the deetzs
- lydia doesnt like to think about any of them in the context of dating (because,,,, ew that’s her ghost parents and best friend) but she loves all of them, and accepts their decision easily
- so do charles and delia! although charles is a bit confused about it in the beginning, seeing as the maitlands are married and he’s very used to monogamism, but he understands after they explain it a bit more.
- charles and delia finally have their wedding about a month after that! it’s really nice, and beetlejuice behaves because They Deserve It. (they also made him and adam best men, and barbara was the bridesmaid! beej exerted his powers to make them visible for the day.)
- a little while after this, let’s say about,,,, a year after beej has returned, the feelings are all over the place. delia and charles have talked about their feelings for the 3 ghosts (delia whole heartedly supports communication on everything in a relationship), and the 3 ghosts have talked about the same between themselves (aka the maitlands coax it out of beej because he’s been repressing it for a While)
- this all comes to a head after a month or so of the couples talking about the others. one night while lydia is babysitting sky overnight, delia makes them all sit down and talk it out. it’s a long talk, but they eventually all agree to try this thing out. much like beetlejuice and the maitlands, they keep it a secret from lydia until they’re sure the relationship isn’t going to splinter apart.
- lydia isn’t too surprised, and had honestly come to terms with the fact that all of them were gonna end up in some sort of relationship. (she’s just happy that all of the parents/whatever beej is in her life are happy)
- they make sure to keep everything PG if lydia is so much as within the vicinity of the house.
- adam eventually makes them all a bed big enough for them all, and they custom order a mattress big enough for it.
- charles does renovations to connect the guest room the maitlands and beej had been staying in, to his and delia’s room
- they also renovate the bathroom in their room in order to make the shower big enough for all of them, and have more counter space.
with that all squared away, NSFW time babey!
- beetlejuice and delia are definitely the kinkiest of all of them. they’re also really the only ones with experience with multiple partners, so they mostly take the lead in the beginning
- the first few times they do anything, it’s all very planned and “by the books”, and they also establish some boundaries before each time (ie. who is into what, what they’re willing to try, and what is a hard no, safe words, etc.)
