headcanon: there’s a daycare in at least one of the regions where instead of being used for breeding it’s Pokemon’s old friends senior dog sanctuary, where stray/lost elderly Pokemon can spend the rest of their lives at!
Definitely. <3
Old Friends Senior Pokemon Sanctuary is where I would want to work :D
[Picture of a sleepy battle-scarred gyrados sunbathing] Mr. Johannsen loves his sunshine!

Okay sorry, I love this.

That’s at least a bit of a relief. The vampire could always being like– why give a truthful answer to that question to a hunter?– but for whatever reason Chase believes it to be true. “I’d appreciate it if you didn’t change that.”
“I won’t unless it’s because I’m forced to defend myself.” He replies, giving the hunter a pointed look before sitting down at the table. “Whenever you’re finished eating, I’ll show you to your room.”
pettythieveswithpotential:
He tries not to react to the answer, but he can’t say he’s thrilled with the idea of being the only food source in the house. It’s… unnerving at best and definitely makes him want to bolt right this second. But he knows he’s got to be a little more patient than that. He takes another bite of the apple– which tastes way better than any fruit ever should– before he asks a follow-up question. “Have you ever killed anyone?” He’s not sure the other will answer, but he’d like to know how screwed he is here.
It was a fair enough question and one that he would definitely want the answer to if their positions were reversed. “No.” As far as Guzma was concerned, he has, but he really hasn’t. Knocked out, maimed even, but never killed. If Guzma knew that, he’d ditch him faster than Gladion could blink.
pettythieveswithpotential:
He eyes the other with suspicion, before deciding he’s too hungry to care. If he doesn’t eat something soon, he’s going to pass out and he’d rather not do that in the company of a vampire. He grabs an apple from a bowl on the counter, knowing he can’t handle much more than that after being half-starved for the past week. He takes a bite out of it before asking, “So do you have other humans around here?”
He watches the human curiously, finding it a little odd he only went for a piece of fruit. He doesn’t comment on it though, simply watching instead. “No.” Gladion replies simply, his answer being the truth. For a long time he drank from the humans provided by Skull and before that his mother had provided him with any food he needed.
pettythieveswithpotential:
Once they’re freed, one hand goes to massage the wrist of the other. His wrists are bruised but not blistered and he’ll take that for the small victory it is. After a moment, he nods. “That seems reasonable enough.” Not that he can guarantee he won’t try to run for it again, but at least for now it can wait. It’s not like he has much choice in the matter.
“I think so.” He agrees, guiding the other to the kitchen. “Help yourself.” He did keep human food around because of the occasional human visit and also because you do have to feed your meals otherwise they’ll just die and then your food source is gone. Not to mention it was just wrong to make anyone or anything starve.
pettythieveswithpotential:
“Fair enough,” he concedes. No point in pretending otherwise. Besides, if he somehow gets away from here without killing the vampire and his parents hear about it? Well, he’d rather not deal with their reaction to that. “Define behave.”
“Oh, you know, don’t murder me or destroy my house or try to make a run for it.” He replies with a snort as he pulls the key given to him at the auction from his pocket and unlocks the chains around the hunter’s wrists.
pettythieveswithpotential:
“I didn’t try to murder you,” he points out, stumbling slightly once back on his feet. Although he won’t deny that he probably would have if he’d been armed. You can’t outrun a vampire but you can stake one that decides to pursue you.
“Not yet.” He replies, though he has no doubts that the hunter will likely try to do so before it’s over with. Gladion guides him into the house and shut and locks the door. “If you’ll behave, you can eat.”
pettythieveswithpotential:
Chase can’t stop in time not to collide with the other, falling flat onto the ground with a grunt. He closes his eyes as the world spins around them and takes a deep breath before opening them again to glare at the other. “No, but it was worth trying. Works better if I have a weapon.”
“Riiight. Why don’t you try eating before murdering me and making your great escape” Gladion replies, reaching down to grab the hunter’s arm and haul him up off of the ground.Â
pettythieveswithpotential:
He considers his options for a moment. He hasn’t eaten at all today and just getting out of the car leaves him feeling a little dizzy. He’s also still in chains, but he knows he can get out of them later with the right supplies. So he bolts, because he has to try and he doesn’t know when he’ll get the chance to again. His focus is mainly on putting one foot in front of the other without tripping or fainting.
Gladion sighs, waiting for a moment in almost amusement before he takes off after the hunter at a supernatural speed, stopping in front of him and crossing his arms. “Really? Did you honestly think that was going to work?”
pettythieveswithpotential:
It’s a fair enough response, but Chase isn’t going to admit that. “Those who aren’t are definitely in the minority. And besides, even some of the ones who don’t want to be can’t always control it.”
He nods after a moment. “Fair enough.” His mother... she’d always been against killing and then one day she just snapped. Everything changed after that and then he ran away from home. He still doesn’t even know what became of his sister. The driver pulls into Gladion’s driveway and he gets out, waiting for the human to follow before guiding the hunter to the front door, unlocking it and nudging him to encourage him to go inside. He’d chase him if he had to, but he’d really rather not.
pettythieveswithpotential:
He nods, glad at least that he was given a name and not some sort of pretentious title. “You know I hate this, right?” He’s already wondering if he can bolt when they reach their destination. He’s feeling weak from the lack of food, but he’s still contemplating trying.
“I imagine you do. Probably as much as vampire’s hate being staked.” He replies, leaning back in his seat. “It’s not our fault we have to eat. Not all of us are killers, you know.”
“ Null and I have to make it on our own.            And I don't ever want to forget that. "

pettythieveswithpotential:
“Chase,” he answers, with no intention of sharing his last name. His parents are still out there somewhere. With any luck, they’ll come help him out, but he’s not counting on them to be quite so generous. After all, he got himself into this mess, so it’s his job to get himself out. "And what am I supposed to call you?”
The blonde nods slightly when the other answers, confirming that he’d heard but not saying anything else until the male returns the question. He turns his gaze back to Chase and stares at him for a moment before he replies, “Gladion.”
pettythieveswithpotential:
“Gee, thanks,” he deadpans. “Sorry if I don’t find that very comforting.” It’s not like he knows enough about the other to know whether or not that’s a good thing. And his interactions with vampires haven’t been very pleasant over the years.
“Sure.” The vampire replies, not paying much attention to what the hunter is saying. “What’s your name?”
