Prototyping: The caves
Loop of the starting area of the game. Added background effects and changed up the colors. Just needs some atmospheric music and sound effects now.

Finetuning the color palette and adding new assets. This will be the look of the first area in the game.

A first look and feel of the game. Pretty happy with the style so far, time to start building a proper level with these finished assets.

And here's a jump, fall & land sequence for the player. Still finetuning these animations so they'll feel smooth and quick in-game, but I'm getting there. Might need a little more animation on the hat, and a more subtle approach to the cape.

We've got a little running guy, look at him go.
Considered making his hat flop about as well to add more life to it, but it felt too distracting.

The art style has gone through a huge change. Now that the game jam has ended, I'm taking my time updating the graphics, including a new design for the player character.
Been listening to a lot of Hollow Knight music and Over The Garden Wall music for inspiration while working; I think it shows.
