Aegon seemed to feel her gaze; he paused mid-laugh and glanced around the room. Her heart jumped, and she quickly looked down, her cheeks turning red as she realized how close she had come to being caught.
“Y/N, are you even listening?” Joanna teased, nudging her friend.
“Of course, I was just… thinking,” Y/N murmured, her voice barely audible over the din.
Joanna gave her an exasperated look, following her gaze to the prince. “Oh, I see. The famous Prince Aegon. You should just go talk to him, you know?”
Y/N’s eyes widened, and she shook her head. “No! I-I couldn’t. He… he doesn’t even know I exist.” Her voice trailed off as she toyed nervously with a bracelet on her left wrist.
“That’s only because you’re always hiding over here” Joanna replied. “You’re lovely, Y/N, and anyone can see you’re a lady of grace and intelligence. You just have to give him a chance to see it too.”
Y/N couldn’t imagine it. Her heart raced at the thought of speaking to him, of somehow capturing his attention. But she dismissed the thought. A prince and a girl like her? It was impossible.
The evening went on, and Y/N tried her best to enjoy the company at her table, though her gaze still drifted now and then to where Aegon mingled among the guests.
Finally, she reached for the pitcher of wine, hoping to calm her nerves a bit with a small sip. But as she poured, her hand trembled, and the cup tilted in her grip.
She heard someone approach the table and shifted to make way, but her movement was too sudden. Her hand caught on the pitcher, and before she realized it, her wine had splashed across the sleeve of the person beside her.
She gasped in horror, her heart sinking as she looked up to apologize - only to find herself staring straight into the eyes of Prince Aegon himself.
“Oh! I-I’m so sorry, Your Grace!” she stuttered, her face turning red as she reached instinctively for a cloth to dab at his sleeve. She felt clumsy and foolish, knowing that her worst fear had come to life. Of all the people she could have spilled wine on.
Aegon chuckled softly. “There’s no harm done, my lady. It seems the wine wanted to find its way to me tonight.”
Y/N froze, hardly daring to breathe as she looked up at him. His expression was surprisingly kind, his violet eyes sparkling with amusement. His voice a bit drunk. She was mesmerized, her embarrassment momentarily forgotten as she realized that he was looking at her - not just a glance, but with interest.
“Y/N,” the lady mumbled, hardly trusting herself to say it. “Lady Y/N.”
“A lovely name,” he replied. He tilted his head, studying her in a way that made her heart race. “I haven’t seen you much at these feasts, have I?”
“No,” she replied, feeling awkward under his gaze. “I… I tend to stay out of the way.” She looked down, unable to meet his eyes, her cheeks again flushing with color.
Aegon chuckled, a warm, genuine sound that seemed to ease her tension. “That’s a shame, Lady Y/N. You don’t seem like someone meant to stay hidden.”
He held her gaze, and for a moment, Y/N felt something shift between them - a spark, faint but undeniable.

All the Lost ones have returned to the camp.
It was night, and no one was in the mood for a big event. A couple of boys sat down together by a smaller fire and talked, softly. One was talking, and sometimes the others mumbled something back.
It was a hunting day when everyone had to catch an animal. They had to get up early in the morning, when it was still dark and have food ready for the day, as they were not allowed to return.
The Lost girl hated this day. Her whole body ached and she could barely make it to her tent, which, with her luck, was at the very end of the camp.
She only caught two squirrels throughout the day, which is bad compared to the rest, when some dared to catch a deer.
She walked into her tent. It was organized and clean. After a whole day, she always wanted to go back to somewhere she could hide from all the boys. Sometimes they really acted like animals.
After a hard day, she went to shower. Peter was quite kind and provided Y/n with her own 'bathroom'. He was considerate and could understand that it was probably not very safe to bathe with the Lost ones.
Dressed in clean and comfortable clothing, Y/n walked over to her vanity table. She ran a hand through her hair, which was very tangled from the whole day.
She opened a wooden drawer, pulled out a comb, and began slowly combing her hair. This routine was her favorite part of the day. She could think in peace and look for unanswered questions in her thoughts.
Y/n saw something at the bottom of the reflection that certainly wasn't there in her tent early in the morning.
She quickly turned in the direction of the bedside table.
Alongside a bowl of fresh fruit and green tea-flavoured biscuits, in a hand-carved vase were Y/n's favorite flowers.
Blue roses.
They are very rare because they grow on the other side of the island in the middle of the Deep Forest, where no one dares go unless they want to die in a moment. There are many dangerous things out there.
It looked like someone had put them in here just before she came into the tent.
This wasn't the first time she'd found flowers someone had given her. It's been happening a lot lately.
Y/n wasn't used to it, she'd never received anything like it from anyone before but it always made her day.
But one thing bothered her.
She had no idea who gave her the flowers.
None of the Lost Boys ever seemed interested in her. She was treated more like a sister. She played dangerous games with them, sat around the fire with them in the evenings, where they told made-up stories or something that each of them had experienced.
At one time she thought it might be Peter, but his behavior toward her was merely as a commander to a subordinate.
That's why she put it out of her mind.
Gently, she leaned toward them, breathing in a wonderful scent with her eyes closed.
An energy filled her body. Her mind was suddenly flying in the clouds, and Y/n felt like she was in a wonderful dream.

The next morning, at breakfast, Y/n wasn't concentrating much. Devin was telling her of a dream he had and she occasionally nodded that she was listening to him.
In fact, she wasn't because her head was full of thoughts.
"Hey! Are you even listening to me?"
Y/n quickly came back to reality. Her friend's face didn't look happy.
"Yes, of course."
He raised his left eyebrow at her efforts to convince him.
The Lost Boy knew, but he wanted to torment her a little.
She looked around as if begging one of the boys for help, but no one saw her. Everyone was busy eating.
He started laughing.
"It's okay!"
She's relieved he wasn't mad at her.
"No one here is a morning person."
"Yeah."
Y/n began tapping a beat of the tune she had just remembered, into the wooden table.
Devin joined her and began to complement the melody with musical embellishments.
After a while all the Lost Boys started to look at them badly as their patience began to run out.
When it was too much to bear. One of the elders, who was as red as a tomato at that moment, banged his fist on the table so hard that the bowls of food jumped.
"Stop it, both of you!"
With a startled expression, Y/n slowly put her hands on her lap from the table.
Everyone slowly started talking again, like nothing happened.
"Party pooper." Devin muttered under his breath. She couldn't help but chuckle, which he noticed and winked at her with a smile.

After a full day of training, when Pan had made up his mind to torture everyone with archery, the day was finally over.
Just as Y/n was walking down the path that led to the camp, she saw a wreath of flowers laid right in front of her. Someone knew she was coming this way.
There was a small piece of old paper. She picked up the wreath from the ground, which she placed gently on her head and focused her attention on the yellow-colored paper.
How strange to dream of you,

It was written in such a light yet sharp font.
Her cheeks pinched gently, and her heart beat faster.
It was getting dark. It suddenly dawned on her that she should have been among the others by now.
Y/n quickly made it to the campsite where the party was taking place. She looked around. There was something going on all over the camp, some Lost Boys were fighting each other with a sword, some dancing and some talking.
What kind of saddened her was that she hadn't seen Felix all day. It didn't surprise her, he'd been busy for days. Either he was with Peter or he got some assignment that took him all day.
But he always came back before it got dark.
He never got too involved with the others, mostly sitting around the fire carving a knife and she could look at him without him catching her doing it.
Maybe it wasn't very polite, but Y/n didn't care, she was in Neverland, she could partially do whatever she wanted.
The Lost Girl didn't want to admit it, but she liked him. She liked the second in command who was pushing everyone away from him.
At one of the tents, Devin was in a fight with an old boy just like him. Thomas, had been here a long time, and he and Devin were inseparable. They were best friends, but they always fought each other during the celebrations.
To reach her friend, she had to push her way through a group of boys who had made a circle around them. One part chanted Thomas' name and the other part chanted Devin's name.
She finally made it to the middle.
Thomas was winning over him. It didn't take long for Devin to lose. He got up from the ground and shook hands with him as a token of friendship.
When all the Lost Ones scattered, he came to her
"You'll definitely beat him next time."
"We both know that's not true." He chuckled.
"Who knows."
There was a gentle pause.
"I'd like to ask you something"
He looked at her with curiosity.
"Yes?"
"Do you know where Felix is? I haven't seen him all day and it's already dark"
He was taken aback.
"Why are you so interested in him?"
That made her uneasy. Y/n was suddenly afraid to confide in her friend. He'd laugh at her. Or worse, he'd tell everyone.
"You know what? Forget I said that. If you need anything, I'll be in my tent."
She turned her back on him and started to walk away.
Panic shot through his body. He had to act. He couldn't let her go. Not now.
"Wait!"
She stopped in her stride and turned to face him.
He didn't know what to do.
"I want to show you my new bow, which I made"
She tilted her head.
"Yes, it's nice, but you've already shown it to me this morning."
His brain said only one thing.
I'm screwed.
"Yeah, but I still need to know from you how to make that painkiller that only you can make."
"Oh, If you want, I'll show you tomorrow."
Y/n started to leave again.
Devin ran after her.
"Don't you want to stay here with us?"
"Devin, I'm very tired."
She started rubbing her eyes.
He knew he was getting into a lot of trouble.
She quickly turned to him. He got scared and jumped.
"What's wrong?"
He looked her in the eyes. She probably thought he was crazy.
"Nothing."
Shaking her head at his manner, she quickly ran to her tent.
What awaited her inside she wouldn't have expected in her wildest dreams.
The tent was lit by candles, and on her bedside table was her favorite fresh fruit, which Felix had just laid there.
She stopped walking and stared at him in disbelief. He saw that he was no longer alone and quickly turned around.
There she stood.
And he didn't know how to feel. His cheeks flushed.
He wanted to say something. Somehow explain, but he couldn't find the right words.
"You?"
He lowered his head and avoided her eyes.
"Yes."
He said it so gently and fearfully because he was afraid of her reaction.
Y/n walked slowly towards him.
"I never thought you'd be interested."
The second in command dared to look at her. He was much taller than her, meeting her e/c eyes looking at him.
She slowly grabbed his hand and gently smiled at him.
"You know, you could have told me."
He was so nervous.
"I was scared."
She gently squeezed his hand and turned his head towards her with her palm.
Y/n took a deep breath.
"If it makes you feel any better, I have those feelings for you too"
She said it out loud, now there was no turning back.
Felix's grey eyes lit up and there was a big smile on his face.
He put her hand to his mouth and gently kissed it and his eyes were focused only on her.
Butterflies flew in her belly and she felt like she was on fire.
Neither of them wanted this moment to end.
He spread his arms and hugged her. This was the first time he had ever done such a physical thing.

The sun was shining in Neverland. Pan was mysteriously in a good mood, so he allowed everyone to have a day off.
Y/n didn't have much to do, so she just sat on a wooden log and used a small stick to draw pictures in the dirt.
Or at least she tried to.
"Damn it!" She didn't know what to draw in the dirt. She had no ideas.
Lost Boys mostly sat under trees where they carved knives or simply slept.
Y/n glanced to the sides and a short distance away, seeing the second in command sitting in the light shade. He examined his dagger, which he always carries with him.
Ever since she had first seen him, she had been drawn to him. Like a magnet. Y/n couldn't explain exactly what it was. Maybe it was his grey eyes or his blond hair she wanted to stroke. His lips that moved so gracefully.
After a moment's thought she heard footsteps.
The leader loomed over her. He was in the same outfit she had first seen him in. His expression was illegible.
"Felix!" Y/n flinched. "Yes, Pan?" He handed Felix a dark bag. "Take it to the mermaids. I owe them certain things that will guarantee they don't go near the shallows" "Of course" The second in command slowly began to walk towards the forest.
"Oh, and take Y/n with you"
That confused her. Why would Pan want her to come?
"Come on!"
She stepped up quickly and caught up with Felix, who moved slowly ahead. "Wait for me!"
The boy smirked to himself, but did not slow down. He had to admit he liked to provoke her.
Y/n caught up with him, but neither of them wanted to talk. Not that they don't like each other, they just like their peace.
"Why does Pan want me to go with you to the mermaids?" She was the first to beat the silence between them.
"He has his reasons"
Y/n was glad to hear his soft voice. Though it didn't really answer her question, she didn't want to bother Felix. She already thought he must be upset that he had to take her with him.
She looked down, then back at him. His expression seemed so calm. The girl was sure of one thing, this boy has a lot of secrets.
After a while they came out of the deep jungle. Y/n remembered how she first met the second in command.

The girl awoke with a headache. She propped herself up with her hands to sit and began rubbing her eyes.
The sound of the sea caught her attention. She looked around, Trees? Sand? Where the hell am I?
Slowly she got to her feet. Y/n heard movement coming from the jungle. She felt a little shiver go down her spine.
A boy came out. He had a dark cloak and a club over his shoulder. He stopped suddenly and looked at the person his leader had sent him for.
"Who are you?"
She just looked at him. Unable to speak. He moved a few steps closer and she noticed a scar on his face.
"I suggest you answer me" Those grey eyes looked like they could see right into her soul and know all her secrets.
Internally, she struggled with herself. Whether she should answer this boy or not.
"Y/n"
A little smile appeared on his face.
"Welcome to Neverland"

"You know the rules, stay out of the water no matter what" He told her in a low voice. The sea is among the most dangerous places on this island.
They walked on the beach. Y/n's feet kept sinking into the sand.
From a distance she heard the giggles of mermaids basking on rocks or simply jumping in the water.
When Felix decided they were close enough, he mentioned for Y/n to sit under a tall palm tree on the right. She walked more quickly, where she sat and rested her head against the trunk.
But her eyes were fixed on the person who had just come too dangerously close to the mermaids.
They all swam up to him and were very interested in what he had to tell them. One flirtatiously wrapped a stand of their hair around her finger and stared at him with delicate eyes, while the other two had to show their new jewelry collections. That made her grit her teeth.
Felix threw a bag at one of them, the mermaid peered into it. "You know what he'll do if you break the deal" She merely nodded her head in agreement, and with that he turned to leave.
All of them disappeared underwater except for two that remained.
It all happend so fast.
One mermaid closest to the shore reached out for the second in command. She grabbed his right leg and yanked him with all her strength. He didn't expect it, and within a second he bent over in his back, dropped his club, which he always carries on his shoulder, and fell into the water.
Y/n held her breath. Her chest tightened. She jumped up bit didn't know what to do.
He said I shouldn't go near the water and stay here no matter what.
But he needs help!
She took off her cloak and shoes, which she tossed against the trunk. From her belt she drew a knife with a very nice engraving Felix had made just for her, and with a pounding heart she ran to help to the drowning Lost boy, who was short of strength and barely able to breathe.
Before she could catch up, mermaids disappeared under the water with Felix. She ran into the sea and swam to where she could see only a dark red spot.
No!
Y/n took a deep breath and dipped. Water was clear so she could easily see around her. She tightened her grip around the knife. Blurred, she saw something glittering around her. It was the jewels mermaids wear.
Y/n knew she didn't have much time, so she made one long and strong move. The knife went straight into the back of the first one. She had black hair and many necklaces on her neck. A scream of pain she emitted brought attention to the second one. Her eyes darkened. "What are you doing?" Meanwhile, the one with the knife in her back let Felix go. Last mermaid was approaching her.
She took advantage, put her head above the water and took a deep breath. Something twisted around her right ankle and jerked with great force. She screamed out in pain and it caused her to lose a lot of oxygen. She remembered a small knife strapped to her thigh. She pulled it out with all her might and cut into the hand who held her. The mermaid released her at once and quickly disappeared into the depths of the sea.
Y/n swam to the body, which was floating slowly in the water.
She grabbed him around the waist and swam all the way to the surface. The girl didn't have much strength, but something kept telling her not to give up and that it might not be too late. They weren't too far from the beach. The boy's body was draining her strength, but she didn't even think about it.
When they swam to the beach, Y/n with Felix stumbled slowly to the tree, where she put him down. She remembered how to resuscitate. After a while she began to tremble and tears began to flow from her eyes. "Please" The girl so was scared and couldn't catch her breath.
The second in command woke up and started coughing up water. She suddenly felt many feelings inside her. The tears kept flowing and she couldn't stop them. It was too much for her.
Felix didn't know what had happened for a moment, but then it all began to come back to him. For the first time he looked at the girl who had saved his life. He knew that if he hadn't gone with her, but with some Lost Boy, he would have died.
He noticed that she was in tears. It hurt his heart. Slowly he reached out and touched her face, which he gently grasped. He wiped away tears with his thumb.
These two have never been so close together. It was very intimate for Y/n.
