Sorry for the late response! I actually only attended my local community college for two years because It’s all I could afford haha.

I learned almost everything about making comics from searching information online and by attempting to make comics and post them over the years and following other comic creators, being active in the webcomics community, etc.

You definitely don’t have to go to college to make comics imo! But if you’d like to do it as your job it might take a very long time of building up skills and an a following.

How Togashi is playing with the usual shonen rules

Today i'm gonna talk about Hunter x Hunter (again because we love hxh!!!), and how Yoshihiro Togashi gender bend the rules to make a gay relationship in his manga.

First, I already talked about Killua's overall appearance in a previous post so I wont say it again but he really look like a girl. I mean, he has all the usual codes of a female character in a shonen manga and will list them so when you'll end this post it will be obvious.

1. The Love Interest

If you've already read other mangas and specially for shonens, you probably know that in every one there is a love interest. And for hxh guess what....

... It's Killua !🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳!!

I'm not kidding, like... literally... Bro is written as a love interest and as a girl love interest.

We'll take a little example because y'all are simple mided so let's move on! The best example I have is maybe Hinata from Naruto. This girl is literally is shyer version of Killua and I can prove it.

Well there is a scene when Naruto was fighting with pain, and Hinata is saying all that stuff about how she love Naruto, and die for him, and bla,bla,bla...

And now if you've read the japanese version of HxH you may feel a lil bit of "Deja-vu" with this scene.

We also have this "AbSoLuTeLy sTrAiGhT" scene.

I see no differences.

But something that you can see in every love interest must be the reaction to their "crush" talking. Like... What do you mean Killua is blushing when Gon say Thank you ????

This is not common at all.
