I'm a Black Female Cosplayer And Some People Hate It

After my pictures started making the rounds on deviantArt, tumblr and 4chan, it became pretty clear that my cosplay brings all the racists to the yard, and they’re like…white cosplay is better than yours.

'For a black cosplayer (not to be racist) she did an amazing job!' the original Tumblr post read. It was later was edited to include “I love her skin tone” after all hell broke loose. Personally, I’ve always been stuck on those first few words: ‘for a black cosplayer.’ As if the bar was set lower for us, as if we weren’t expected to perform on the same level as white cosplayers.

Every time I see this article I just get angry again.

Chaka is so ridiculously beautiful and such a gifted cosplayer that she takes your breath away just to be AROUND her and on top of that, she’s funny, charming, intelligent and kind. People like her are the best reason to go to cons in the first place.

The people trolling her aren’t fit to be the gum on her shoe.

So just finished watching an episode of Tiny Toons where the characters were the Just-Us League of Supertoons, so cute. I have never seen this episode but I was giddy the whole time, and of course it was written by the amazing Paul Dini. Side note Scentenna hilarious.

Amethyst Short Debuts on DC Nation

The cartoon version of Amethyst of Gemworld made its debut on this morning’s DC Nation. The show is very different take then the current comic version and the original making Gemworld a video game. But there’s still a Pegasus. And it is still awesome.

This is Amazing, I would totally watch this!
