Being the selected wisdom of a certain writer of adventure picto-books, Gail Simone. My comic book works include runs on Birds of Prey, Deadpool, Simpsons, Batgirl, Wonder Woman, Tomb Raider, Red Sonja, Action Comics, and Secret Six. My work in film includes the Wonder Woman animated movie, Brave and the Bold, and Justice League Unlimited. If you are an aspiring comics creator, I put together a Tumblr of helpful information gathered from my pro friends here: http://comicssurvivalkit.tumblr.com/ I am cis female, pronouns she/her. Comics are weird, that's why I like 'em. Thanks!
Virtue, Tremor, Katharsis, Mouse, Vengeance Moth, and Burden
I first read this short series in 2019, and made minifigures at the time (you can check them out here). But it's been 5 years and I reread this series and decided that it was time to update these minifigs.

Here’s the deal. Years ago, Gail Simone mentioned that one of the long term plans for Misfit was that she was from Gemworld. And for the Steven Universe fans out there, it’s a different Gemworld. Less despotic, more fairies. No, like literally… It’s been said that DC Comics’ Gemworld and the Realm of Faerie from Sandman are one and the same. Anyway, I knew for the 2000s, I was going to pull from the Manga boom of that decade and have a manga inspired cover… Which I almost based off of Tokyopop’s covers… But then I remembered this little treasure from Jill Thompson: https://www.vertigocomics.com/graphic-novels/death-at-deaths-door
And I went from there! (By the way, I freakin’ love everything Jill Thompson does and she also did an awesome Dead Boy Detectives graphic novel as well, which is also totally adorable and highly recommended too!)
So the idea here is that Charlie on her travels to return to normal time has ended up somewhere in Gemworld, and now has to go on an adventure there, meeting up with various people who live in the realm, (including a winged horse and a talking snarky raven) in an attempt to stop an assassination attempt on the life of King Oberon and Queen Titania. Shenanigans ensue. At the end of the story, both Amethyst and Dream of the Endless help her return home, though warning her that the world she’s returning to is not the one she left. And she heads home, dropping her off JUST right during the events of Batgirl #34.
And from there, that takes us to what I got planned for next year.
Next year, for Cover #9…
Next year, I’m drawing the damn comic. We’re planning this a year in advanced right now, so I can work around doing my own book, as well as this thing too, because on Misfit Day next year I want to release the entire thing at once. My wife Andrea and I are currently working out the story, which involves Charlie, a talking doggy, a gravity manipulating teenage girl, and a plant girl. And throughout this next year, I’m gonna be posting little bits and pieces of it. Yeah, it’s a lot of work for what will just be a fancomic. But dammit, if Stjepan Sejic can do it for Harley Quinn, then I… Well… He’s really good, but I’m gonna give it my best shot anyway. If you wanna support me on my Patreon, so I can actually pull this off, I would not exactly be offended! ;)

So yeah, I hope you enjoyed this cover and I hope you like what we got planned.
(P.S. You don’t have to point out that I got the kanji wrong for the cover text. I’m well aware it’s totally flubbed and probably says something like Misfit Banana Dog or something. :) )
Happy #MisfitDay ! I got commissioned to make a custom Misfit action figure. #misfit #dccomics #birdsofprey #customactionfigures

I spent a good part of the afternoon yesterday with Victory Photography in Downtown Charlotte (the home of Heroes Con!) making these pictures for today!!! The full album is on Facebook on my page Hyperactive Hero. I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them!!
Sometimes I’m glad that the writers made Rogue somebody who doesn’t want kids because I’d hate for her to have her character boiled down to nothing but being a mother, but then I see panels like this and I wish that these two would just admit that they both can’t help themselves from taking in every kid who needs help.
