South Africa is being punished for being smart and honest when the new Covid variant was detected in Europe a while ago but they didn’t report it. How does that work

I just wanna remind people that Moderna did vaccine trials in South Africa but has refused to allow SA to produce vaccines for the continent and opted out of providing South Africa with vaccines earlier this year. Pfizer is only allowing South Africa to produce vaccines starting in 2022

also re: covid vaccines, people have said this but places like India, Korea, etc are very very very good at medical research and India is the biggest distributor of vaccines. it is not "the us needs to give/donate Poor Countries medicines because they are too stupid to figure it out themselves" it is "the us copyrighted the ingredients of the vaccine and so nobody can make them outside of the country"

which is vastly more insidious than simply not performing charity

I think some of you take the phrase “its not true friendship unless you bully each other” and take it as “oh so if I make fun of people then they will become my friend!!”

No. the phrase means that you trust each other and know each other well enough to tease one another while knowing exactly what the other person’s boundaries are.

This does not mean leaving unnecessarily rude comments/tags on random ppl’s posts thinking that it’s just friendly ribbing when you are not, in fact, friends with that person. And guess what?? Now that person is even less likely to be your friend.
