THINGS I’D LIKE TO POINT OUT ABOUT THIS CLIP:
(I would like to point out basically every single thing about this clip but lets start with these)
Surprise! Cris is waiting again! We’ve probably spent around seven minutes in total this season on Cris waiting around, but it’s nothing compared to what feels like seven years that i’ve waited for this clip.
After seeing Cris Joana is trying so hard to gather strenght to stay strong and to be tough. She is trying to protect Cris and herself as well, but it is taking a lot of her. She says later in this clip that she is fine now, and well she might be fine from a BPD pov, but other than that, this girl is not fine.
Cris is trying to ignore that since she is on a mission. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how our girl Cris probably went to a bookstore for the first time in her life to get this book. I am proud.
The “Cris i haven’t opened this fully yet but i could see the title of this book and you are making this being tough thing really difficult for me rn by being romantic basically for the first time in your life” look.
I love this. I love this so much. Not only because everything dangerous liaisons means to these two, not because Cris is actually being open about her feelings, but because i already know that this is now the most valuable possession that Joana has. She will treasure this book forever, and she now has something concrete to look at and read when things are shitty and when she needs a reminder that she is loved.
After Joana makes one more attempt to stay tough Cris goes into Joana at Viri’s party mode and basically starts a goodbye speech. Congrats skames for managing to break my heart the same way twice. Also, I’m really glad that they had Cris say te quiero out loud as well, i’m even more proud of this than of Cris somehow knowing where to buy books from.
“I’m a fucking kinder surprise egg”. Yes you are Joana; you are delicious, pure and you just want to make people happy, but some people think you are a choking hazard because they can’t look after their kids. That’s on the parents Joana, not you.
When Joana starts telling Cris why she shouldn’t be with her Cris smiles because it is now latest absolutely clear to her that the only reason Joana doesn’t want to be with her is to protect her. That’s easier to argue against than a “i don’t love you anymore” that Cris was scared to get. Also. “vale” really is our “always”, isn’t it?
“I can’t even stand myself, how am I going to be able to ask you to stand me?” We all knew that this was what Joana was thinking when breaking up with Cris, but hearing it out loud hurt me to my core.
And Cris’s reaction to this comment was everything i hoped it would be. I hope that everyone who doubts their worthiness listens to this: letting someone love you is their decision to make, not yours. Thank you Nora for making Cris have this realisation.
I’ve been quite vocal about how against i was any suicide related plot points and this was because it was often brought up as an ultimatum from Joana to Cris in a “verbalise your feelings or…” kind of way. Or as a way to make Cris realise she loves Joana. This was not that. This was Joana being honest about her situation and about her life and laying it all there in front of Cris. She said it expecting it to scare Cris away, but after letting it sink in Cris could say that it was “vale”. And she could say this on her terms, while not being pressured or threatened about it.
Joana’s face speaks volumes when Cris is not scared away by what she says and when Cris says she’s not going to run away from this. She has just told probably one of her biggest secrets and insecurities and Cris says she’s not going to leave. This is not what she was expecting, she had already completely given up on the idea of them.
And then we get our minute by minute speech and Isak and Evens across the universes are crying. Not being 100% certain about something and living in the moment is something that Cris can teach Joana. Cris tends to say she doesn’t know anything, Joana tends to say she’s sure of everything; they are meeting in the middle and living in the moment.
Cris has come so far from not knowing what to say though. She not only knows how to confess her love, but she also now knows how to implement her humor and strenghts into situation she would’ve probably found uncomfortable before.
Have you ever seen anything more beautiful than Joana’s face when she realises that Cris is actually here to stay and that her gf is an actual dork? Didn’t think so.
Joana may have been the one to break up with Cris and shattered Cris’s heart, but Cris is the one who came to Joana and she’s the one embracing her and the one telling her to come into her arms. This means that Cris has understood the mindset that Joana was in and where her actions came from. This is major major growth.
Joana’s deep exhale when Cris hugs her tightly. I could just feel and see Joana’s world getting a bit lighter and some of the worry, sadness and regret leaving her body.
Cute nose rubs and forehead kisses are officially a crisana thing now, sorry i don’t make the rules. I also really really like the parallel with this and the perdóname clip as many have pointed out.
Is it just me, or doesn’t Cris look about five years older? Confidence looks good on you darling. I’d like to thank the girl squad for making Cris realise her impact, strenght and capabilities, and Joana for pulling them out.
Seeing Joana in Cris’s arms after knowing what she has gone through in the past week makes me so emotional. I’m so ready for some cute soft crisana for the rest of the week.
I have said this a million times, but thank you skam españa so much for knowing what you guys are doing and knowing your characters, even if we sometimes in panic question it. After seeing this reunion i can’t see how else this could have happened. It was raw, realistic, true to characters and just beautiful. And thank you Irene and Tamara for just constantly blowing my mind away.
