hc for Alexia hooking up w Noee??
omg i was actually going to write something for them but because i’m hearing I wanted to do more sensitivity research first! (speaking of, if anyone has any resources that they think might help with that, please send them my way!) but here’s how i see nolexia happening
- first of all, i hc that alexia continued learning sign language after she and arthur broke up. she first starts learning mostly for him, and then just keeps going. i think this is in character because i really don’t see alexia giving up on a new skill just because a relationship ended, and i could also totally see her getting very into languages in general and maybe studying them in university!! i also don’t see noée wanting to enter any kind of relationship with a hearing person if they couldn’t communicate this way, and i really don’t want her to compromise on that at all. just wanted to say this first because i think it’s important
- we know that arthur and alexia stayed friends and i would assume arthur and noée stayed friends too. i think alexia and noée are sort of polite to each other, lots of forced smiles, but noée probably finds alexia too perky and bubbly and alexia probably finds noée sort of cold. they start running into each other more and more and this doesn’t really change
- eventually, alexia is planning some kind of party for the friend group and she reaches out to noée to invite her, she probably says something like “hey it’s really stupid that we both forgave arthur and we’re still not friends, i got over that weirdo ages ago. here’s the address if you want to come tonight, arthur will also be there and you can just hang out with him” and she doesn’t really expect noée to show up but she does (maybe camille pushed her because mika’s there)
- at the party, they’re weirdly shy around each other and not really hanging out. arthur is surprised noée’s there and noée tells him alexia invited her, arthur is sort of surprised by that too and says let’s go find her then. alexia is sort of in the middle of everything but arthur calls her over and they get to talking, i think this is when noée learns alexia’s been learning LSF, eventually they can’t be pulled apart and arthur leaves because he feels sort of like a third wheel
- then they start texting all the time but they’re still too shy to hang out one on one. they start hanging out with arthur but it’s really obvious they just feel weird without a buffer and arthur eventually tells alexia she clearly likes her and should just ask noée out, and alexia laughs and she’s like come on dude, that is way too weird, i can’t even believe you’re suggesting it, and arthur’s like okay, but you didn’t deny being interested... and alexia sort of makes fun of him and laughs it off
- but it sort of sticks in alexia’s head and eventually she goes to one of noée’s events. it also ends up just being alexia, noée, and arthur cleaning up, and arthur leaves and gives alexia sort of a pointed look. after, the two end up sitting and talking and alexia mentions something about being bi and noée gets kind of quiet and awkward. alexia misinterprets it as discomfort and says something like “what, is that weird for you?” and noée says something like “no, i was just surprised” and i see alexia just shrugging and saying “i’m surprised you didn’t know, i’ve been flirting with you all night”
- and noée sort of starts laughing because she can’t believe this girl, she’s maybe the only person she’s met who’s more blunt than she is and she’s entirely fearless and she doesn’t even know what to say to that, but then alexia just smiles and says “but i’ll stop, i’ll stop, i promise you’re hardly the first straight girl i’ve liked and i’ll get over it” but noée is just still looking at her, smiling a little, which makes alexia feel even more bold, so then she adds, “fuck, you’re just really beautiful and cool. i just can’t help it” and then noée shakes her head and smiles and kisses her :)
- and i see them being very inseparable from then on out, they just always have each other’s backs and will fight anyone who tries anything, they’re constantly side-eyeing each other and laughing whenever they’re in a group, just a total power couple. the boy squad sort of laughs at arthur over it but he thinks it’s awesome
