Passover and Modern Slavery

The Passover is a major Jewish spring festival which commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from Egyptian slavery.  That was so many lifetimes ago, yet there are an estimated 45 million people trapped in some form of slavery today. Let’s all spend some time to observe our surroundings if there might be anyone trapped in slavery that we have not been aware of, and do our part to aid them and raise the alarm for help. What is “Food Fraud”?

Food Fraud is the unscrupulous practice of replacing primary ingredients with less costly alternatives, while in the process of food production. The manufacturers would hide this information from the food contents details. Some common examples are milk, fruit juices, GMO rice, beer and even, saffron.
