rwby makes me want to cry so bad. imagine being created with the budget of a nickel and two toothpicks. the map of the region was a stain on a napkin. the creator wrote out to the ninth volume but died before the last of the third volume. but his friends kept the show going, kept true to what he wrote. the show survived the shutdown of the parent company. had crossover movies with wb and was dropped by them as well. got picked up by yet another studio. has been in hiatus hell for 3 years but is confirmed to continue. this is insane and unheard of for this type of show. also the core message of the show is to not give up, to keep going even when the going gets tough, never give up. rwby is not giving up. rwby, monty, you will always be famous <3

I've posted a similar sh!tpostey render back in February on my Bluesky, so I decided to kind of re-do it now that I know a little more than absolutely nothing :')

Still sucks major ass, but at the very least lightning is functional (also this is supposed to kind of be based on that scene with Walter White, but now that I used a different camera setup it doesn't really resemble it, so the meme doesn't work :''''') but alas I'll post it here anyways)

Ruby works from home 🏠

So, funny story short. I actually work as customer support agent, and one time in my infinite wisdom, tiredness and despair I accidentally introduced myself as "Ruby" rather than my usual "Gordon" alias. Someone pointed this out in our group chat and we had a laugh, so I kept experimenting for a while and found out that people react to "Ruby" more positively than to "Gordon", huh We do work with text based requests, so it's not really a big deal, but it was quite funny

I just kept introducing myself as Ruby from then and the QA guys are totally okay with that, as long as it's obvious to my other colleauges who "Ruby" is :) (it is very obvious, my RWBY hyperfixation has taken me hostage and doesn't let me go)

And I kept imagining Ruby literally in my place, answering all these questions and closing support tickets. So here I go modelling this out :D

I've spent quiiiiite a lot of time modelling the chair and the laptop (yes btw those are the actual chair, the actual laptop and the actual headphones I use IRL as well) I've also finetuned the pixel display shader really well only for all of this to remain out of camera's view :''''') Alas I think it turned out pretty neat, so I decided to give it some extra life and animate it just a tiny bit

This show will never ever die, and while I am still a relatively new addition to the fanbase and haven't experienced the excruciating wait since 2023 - it is still amazing to see an official confirmation of V10 finally being put into production proper, the story will finally continue :''D
