You tried to adjust your eyes to the new, brightly lit room. The night before slowly but surely made its way back to your memory. Bucky had been holding you, sitting upright against the bed frame as he told you a silly story about days when he was younger. His thumb had been tracing your temple till you eventually succumbed to the sleep you’d been fighting for minutes.
Now it was the morning. You began to blink away the daze of sleep you had earlier been in. Just when you were about to whimper or whine for Bucky - he could be seen slowly approaching, eyes loving, shining with that warm expression he always seemed to wear when you first woke up. He was always loving, warm, and gentle - but when you first woke up? It was something even softer.
"Is my baby doll up, now?" he asked in the gentlest voice he could muster, making his way to you finally. You put your arms out immediately, still rubbing the sleep from your eyes.
“dada” you said - so quietly he almost didn’t catch it. But he did.
“Baby” he responded back in a way that mimicked yours, watching you fondly as you swayed slightly from sleep, hair tousled.
He lifted you up as soon as he got close enough, hoisting you in his lap as he settled to sit at the end of the bed.
And before he knew it, your face was tucked into his neck, arms hung loosely around his shoulders. He could feel the softness of your breathing against his neck, and he knew if he stayed still here for even a moment longer, you’d be asleep again.
“Baby, eyes open, okay? It’s morning time, we’re up, remember?” Bucky murmured as he bounced you just slightly, pressing a kiss to your temple. He knew if he let you sleep in now, there’d be no chance of a nap later. You responded with a small grumble, but begrudgingly opened your eyes - still pressing your cheek against his shoulder.
He expected you to stay awake? He smelled like that special cologne that was singled to dada, had the strongest arms in the world, and the warmest shirt that was impossible not to cuddle into. This must’ve been a trick of sorts.
“There’s those pretty eyes” he said with a scrunch of his nose - making a silly smile at your now wide, yet tired eyes.
You tried to look grumpy, you really did - but before you knew it, a small smile escaped one side of your lips, and then the other.
“dada’s silly” you giggled as he raised one eyebrow - squinting his eyes at you playfully.
“yeah dada is pretty silly isn’t he?” he asked rhetorically, tone warm - leaning in to kiss your forehead. “and he loves you. so so much”
The rest of the morning was slow, started with cuddly warm cuddles on the couch, and ended in the same way - Bucky lied across it with you on his chest, both of you fast asleep as cartoons became background noise.
I love how in the sfw age regression community you can be like "This is my Baba, his real name is Baba, he's gonna tuck me in tonight and read me a story with the funny voices!" And Baba is standing over here like this:

very much a helicopter mom, overbearing and overprotective but usually you don't mind it if you're feeling really, really little. if you're feeling a bit older, you often throw tantrums that you're a "big kid" and yelena has to get alexei over to calm you.
she has rules for you but is not very stern. she definitely gentle parents you.

- caregivers: bucky, yelena, ava, kind of alexei
- yelena is a flip (little lean)
- ava is a flip (cg lean)
- yelena is bob's primary cg. if she's regressed, ava's his secondary.
- bucky is yelena's primary cg. ava is her secondary.
- alexei has no idea how any of this actually works. he can kind of help, but not much. yelena doesn't regress around him, she gets embarrassed of it.
- the littles are the siblings ever actually. they're always getting into trouble.
- yelena never regresses voluntarily. she tries to fight it because it scares her to not be in her big mindset in case something bad happens.
- all of the littles are snackers. yelena loves goldfish, ava loves fruitsnacks, bob is a big fan of apple sauce pouches.
- when yelena is little she likes wearing the guys' shirts because they make her feel smaller. doesn't matter whose it is, she just likes wearing bigger shirts. especially her dada's though.
- ava is really talkative. she will yap your ear off for hours. bob, on the other hand, stays pretty quiet unless he's being spoken to or if he's involved in an activity. yelena is mostly non verbal when she's little, sometimes she can say a word or two, but not much.
- yelena is a very emotional little one. being limited when it comes to talking frustrates her so much, and if she can't communicate her needs effectively she'll absolutely start crying.
- bucky is good at calming yelena down. he knows exactly what to say to help her. if she's crying, he'll let her hug him or rest her head on his shoulder for a bit, even though he's not the biggest fan of it.
- ava and bob love sticking magnets to bucky's metal arm. he hates it.
- yelena has alot of nightmares. as a result of this, she usually wakes up from them regressed. she always goes to bob's room if she has one, because he's awake way later than everyone else, so she isn't as worried about bothering him. she doesn't even need to say anything (not that she can), she just has to stand in the doorway and that's all he needs to know that she needs to sleep in there for the night
- if yelena wakes up from a nightmare and she's really freaked out, she'll wake up bucky. he doesn't love being woken up, nor does he like sharing his space with other people, but he knows when lena needs dada he just needs to let it happen
- sometimes he'll calm her down after a nightmare and then ask if she wants to go see ava because ava's usually better with all that stuff. ava doesn't mind either.
- bob is very clingy
- ava prefers verbal comfort over physical. bob prefers physical, and yelena doesn't really have a preference

Really glad the agere community is shifting to be more accepting of padded regressors. For the longest time, it was an immediate indicator of kink instead of regression, but I think that's pretty dumb– especially considering incontinence is one of the most common results of sexual assault, which is one of the most common traumas resulting in a person coping with age regression.
Yay!!! I had gotten all of these at the time, but now have gotten LOTS more!!! My room is fullll of them.. they make me feel very very safe :3
