Today we had our Spanish Cooking workshop, it was really fun and exciting. We learned how to cook Salmorejo, Tortilla Española or Tortilla de patatas and Torrija, which would be the appetizer, entree and dessert, respectively. I enjoyed the workshop since I like to cook even though we just cut ingredients and flipped tortillas and torrijas. After preparing the dishes we got to try them out, the Salmorejo was a cold tomato soup with hard boiled egg and jamon serrano on the top. The tortilla de patatas was an egg omelet with potato and onion served with a lettuce, corn and olive oil salad. Finally, the torrija was a bread bathed on milk and egg which is then fried and sprinkled with a mixture of cinammon and sugar. It was served with a scoop of chocolate ice cream which complemented the taste of the torrija really well. Overall it was an excellent workshop and a delicious meal. -Brandon
