hi guys, this is just a quick little intro post while i get everything set up! some facts about me:

the name's sou, i'm 24!

i'm just getting back into the dc game after a long long time gone—i absolutely adore a lot of different characters and series, so expect to find some really random stuff on here

some of you may have already seen my posts from my main @kimbapisnotsushi!! i was going to start posting more dc stuff and realized why not commit to a whole sideblog so. here i am! i post a lot about haikyuu!! and other animanga series that are very dear to me on my main, so feel free to check that out as well!

Hi all and welcome to the tournament to find superhero comics' most pathetic cringe loser that isn't a white boy! The rules are as follows:

No white boys allowed

Only characters that are—at this current point in time or as of their most recent/last appearance—eighteen and over

Submissions will run for seven days, and you can submit as many as you want! After submissions, characters will be randomly matched up, and each round of polls will run for five days. This will continue until we can crown the ultimate cringe loser!

just so you know, jays skin tone is actually relatively consistent for a comic character (he is meant to be tan! top left is his ORIGINAL CONCEPT ART that was in the SOKE hardcover!), and if you're wanting to draw him and need a good place to color pick from, i have now done the hard work for you.

We as a fandom brought this up to actual creators employed by DC and they were very gracious and receptive to the critique and recolored Jay to be more tan(The Webtoon team for This Internship Is My Kryptonite).

I don't understand why it's so hard for people who claim to be fans of him to do it right.

i want to add that i'm fine with violence in superhero comics, actually. that's not what this is. you've misconstrued the actual point of my comment and canon character dynamics so badly that i have to believe your literacy skills are either atrocious or you read everything with your eyes closed. it's more disappointing than being mad, really, because you not understanding means we can't have actual nice conversations about these two who actually like and respect each other in canon. you should re-examine why you want jay—who is a brown character from southeast asia with very minimal whitewashed designs—to act on violence towards someone that he considers a friend, and drawing him so that he's aligned to white standards on top of that. and you might want want to re-examine why you want to make damian—who you have said you made older for this purpose, because none of this would fly with who they are right now—a victim of this. if you don't want to bother learning how to navigate characters that aren't white, you shouldn't be creating with them, because what you have here is so egregiously racist that i can't even begin to imagine what your thought process was (which is to say, none)

actually since jay can essentially go ghost now this is my chance to say i think a danny fenton crossover would be SO cool and might even save him!!
