A Blog dedicated to all kinds of Batman (sometimes other comic book) angst. Mostly villain based but can do batman requests if asked. Feel free to ask me anything. She/They pronouns. 25.
Hi, Welcome to Gotham City Angst. A blog dedicated to all things angsty in Gotham city. Head canons, prompts or ideas, in general, all are welcome to be submitted. The main focus is on batman and his rogues but the occasional outside input never hurt.
I do have some main house rules in terms of what's allowed to be submitted and what's not.
#1. Please keep asks related to Angst/Whump
#2. No animal abuse
#3. NO UNDER 18S
#4. No paedophile/noncy asks
#5. No homophobia, racism, transphobia etc.
#6. I am not a fan of 'Character x reader' asks. If you do send me these types of asks I will still try to be polite and write it but I am likely to take a long time to reply.
Anything else is generally on the table unless I say I've got a personal issue writing it. With all that in mind please feel free to submit and I look forward to all the lovely suggestions you guys will bring.
Love, K.
My do's and don'ts below
I'm using a traffic light system for what I'll write and what I won't. Green is what I'll 100% do, yellow is what I'll maybe do depending on the context of the ask and red is an absolute no go for me.
Yellow: Homophobia (I can write a rogue who's having a hard time coming to terms with their sexuality but I'm not gonna write an LGBT rogue getting hate crimed), self-harming, suicide (won't do graphic stuff)
Red: Fingernail/toenail horror, Paedophilia, Piss/Shit, Animal abuse. Furry stuff (no disrespect just not my cup of tea).
Imagine him crying as he's desperately trying to clean up the vandalism done on Harvey's poster. Like, just the image of Brucie Wayne crying in public for the first time while cleaning up a ruined poster like a desperate little thing despite knowing it won't be able to change reality.
Ivy forcing Harley to eat pomegranate seeds akin to Hades and Persephone.
Ivy can use the seeds to track Harley wherever she goes. Joker has tried to kidnap Harley too many times, and she's not risking losing her to the mad man.
It's a total invasion of Harley's privacy, but it's for her own good.
Hey it’s nothing concrete so feel free to ignore it
But I saw you mentioned Bookworm in one of the previous posts. Dnk if you enjoy the character, but I would love some angsty hc with him 🫠
Oh yeah, he was one of the first 66' Batman villains I really remember loving.
I imagine he gets overstimulated easily. If he's trying to read in a library and there's noise or someone is breathing too heavily, he explodes in a fit of anger he can't really control. He has a standard, and he just doesn't understand why other people don't follow the standard.
He's constantly seeing the news about Libraries not getting the proper funding, and he takes it hard. The library was his safe space as a kid, and he feels anger that it's being taken away from other kids who might use the library as a means of escape. He frequently goes after rich people associated with pulling library funding. (It includes going after their kids. He is not above putting children in death traps.)
He isn't allowed books in Arkham, and it causes him to spiral into a depression. Books have always been his way of escaping the world when it's at its worst, and it's always at its worst in Arkham.
He's well-read, but reading and doing are two separate things. He feels he misses out on experiences due to his introverted nature and superiority complex. He wants to have an equal, but he feels alone. He'd probably be able to make friends with Riddler or Jervis, but he would keep sabotaging himself.
How I think the rogues would react if they were surrounded by a mob of angry civilian Gothamites and they are powerless/have no weapons. TW: Violence.
Scarecrow: A blocked tube in his gear means his toxin isn't pumping out correctly. He tries to swipe his needle glove hand at them, but they manage to rip it off with ease. The crowd mockingly make comments about how scared he is. And that they'll give him something to be scared of.
Harley: She tries to play the innocent card. She really tries to downplay her involvement in Joker's schemes to prove that Joker forced her to do it. The crowd obviously don't believe her. Dragging her by her pigtails as they kick and punch her. They really have a fixation on breaking her teeth as they want retribution. Joker made their loved ones smile before their death, so they want to ruin Harley's smile for good.
Two-Face: The crowd are torn on what to do with Harvey. On one hand, he's a mobster, so the group has an idea of making him sleep with the fishes (drown him in Gotham Harbour) or strangle him in a mock jury execution since he's an ex DA. The group ends up choosing to "Make his other half match" and they pour alcohol down the unmarked side of his face before setting it alight.
Hi, new here. For the whump thing, any thoughts on riddlebat where bruce rescues/takes care of a bloody broken eddie from an extra sadistic captor who tried to shut him up. (maybe broke his jaw, did a loki thing with the sewing, or just a plain muzzle). Pls. ignore if this isn't your cup of tea 😅
OHHHH YEAHHHHHHH!!! Riddler truly is my favourite punching bag of all time, and work has been busy. Don't worry, this is very much my cup of tea. See the full thing below.
Batman had accumulated a strange rogues gallery over the years. From Egghead, to Crazyquilt, to Bookworm, he was used to odd and eccentric enemies.
His most recent case was no different.
Maxie Zeus, or rather, Maxie Odin, as he took to calling himself, had been going through somewhat of a 'villain identity crisis' in his later years.
Being a Greek god had not brought the grandeur or success he'd wanted, so the man's attention looked elsewhere.
His mind was set on becoming the father of a new pantheon of Norse 'gods'. Gods he could find in the city of Gotham. Gods who would come with him, willingly or not.
It had been 3 months. Gotham's streets had been too quiet, devoid of supervillain activity. Despite the safety that came with the silence, Bruce needed to know what had happened.
When Batman found the rogues, electric collars had been fitted around their necks to keep them from straying. Most of the villains were bruised but would live.
Then there was Riddler.
The one villain with whom Maxie had gone one step further.
Maxie Zeus had assigned Eddie as his "God of Tricks". As he said, "Wicked lies and tricks and riddles fall from his lips as easy as breathing."
During the captivity, Eddie had attempted to talk the madman into letting them go, distracting him while Ivy worked on their escape.
When Maxie had captured Batman, he was all too proud to display the punishment he'd bestowed on the silver-tongued man for his attempted deception.
Taut, thick black stitching crisscrossed over Eddie's lips. He flinched harshly as Maxie poked and prodded at his handywork. The holes wept blood when his jaw moved. Older blood had crusted in smear lines over his cheeks and down his chin.
In the aftermath of the fighting, Batman was victorious as Maxie lay unconscious. Edward passed out at some point during the fighting. After Maxie was back in Arkham with the rest of the Rogues, he took Eddie back to the Batcave. Arkham wasn't the place for him right now; the doctors wouldn't be as gentle for what needed to be done.
He lifted Edward gently out of the Batmobile. Alfred, having been called in advance, had set up the table with the medical supplies. He began to stir as Bruce picked up the suture scissors and a bottle of antiseptic.
Edward's eyes slowly opened, the green almost swallowed by the black of his pupil. Bruce braced himself, unsure how he would react.
As he became more aware of his surroundings, Edward's gaze fell on him, his eyes conveying his utter resignation. He gave a half-hearted exhale through his nose.
"You're in the Batcave. You're safe."
Edward tried to look around, moving only as much as his bruised neck would allow.
"Your wounds are beginning to get infected. I'm going to remove the stitches. You tell me when to start."
Edward raised his hands to feel the pulsating red warmth around his mouth. He took three deep inhales through his nose and nodded, his eyes moving between Bruce and the small medical scissors. Edward grabbed tightly onto the sides of the makeshift hospital bed.
The stitches in Edward's mouth are worse upon closer inspection. Maxie had done it without care; some of the piercing marks had already begun to show redness and swelling.
He slid the scissors under the first of many stitches, careful not to cut the skin. He snipped the first one, and immediately the tension went slack in the corner of his mouth.
Bruce continued to snip away at the thick black cord tenderly. Edwards' winces were small and restrained, his white-knuckled grip still firmly holding onto the table. He took the pieces out one thread at a time, putting them in a small metal bowl off the side.
The final stitch was the trickiest to remove; the thread needed a firm, guiding hand to remove it with as little pain as possible. Bruce tugged three times before it finally came loose.
Edward opened his mouth to speak, but a thick trail of blood and spittle came out before any words could. Bruce positioned Edward upright, catching the rest of it in a metal bowl. He flinched as Bruce's fingers lightly grazed his neck.
Bruce held the bowl with one hand, grabbing a small glass of water with the other. Edward greedily lapped up the water, almost knocking it out of Bruce's hand. Edward spluttered, slowing his chugging to a slow sipping. Bruce rubbed little circles into his back.
"Wha-". Edward croaked out, the words dying on his tongue. He took a deep breath through his mouth.
"Wh-at is broke-n when you na-me it?"
Bruce was silent. Taking a moment to process the riddle. "Silence." He answered.
He lay back down on the table, smiling through the pain.
Do we think in the spider multiverse they ever bring up Skip? Like how many different versions of Skip exist and if so how do the spider men deal with him or that knowledge?
Is Power Pack #1 Spider-Man all alone in being the only Spiderman to know who Skip is, leaving him feeling enraged that he's the only spiderman who had to deal with him?
Clayface and Mary Dahl watching their old shows and films together. It's initially meant to be a funny little thing they do every so often to relax but eventually it turns into a sort of mourning session between them.
They're reminded of how easier things were before their crimes.
