I’m Sophie Bishop, I work as an intern for the GG and was put in charge of making this account here. They told me to go wild.. I watch celebrities like bugs in a terrarium fr
Apparently there’s a Twitter ran by the actual SocMed team
I think that covers my bases..?
/// mod here. You can call me v, I’m 18 so I’m kinda eh about nsfw stuff. I’m gonna try to interact as best I can with the other rp blogs here (i created this oc specifically for that purpose mind you)
*edit* I also forgot there’s an actual Gotham news blog. And apparently like… 2 other Gotham Gazette blogs. I’m not affiliated with them. I was not aware of their existence. Many apologies
I’m also autistic. And by extension, so is every oc I’ve ever made.
Tag list (more for me then yall)
#the yapping of a poor intern <sophie making actual posts>
#*actual* journalism <I’m gonna try to make up primarily gossip column style stories (with the help of a few moots) or posts from other ‘official’ accounts rebloged will have this tag.
Or like, real-world important things, for example : strikes and food recalls
#👀
And/or
#📝
Are for gossip, primarily will be threads from other blogs
#letters from V
mod’s posts. Ooc, will have a lacy border as opposed to bunny border or miffy picture
Once I’m done with a saga or long thread series, I’ll make a cheonolink and tag all the stuff accordingly.
More to come possibly
Other Ooc will have the same lacy border/ <text> format
I’m working on what’s in her bag from a picrew I found and photo bashing from there(?) if that makes sense
I have yet to figure out a regular reblog tag, sorry gng
This is a combination ask/rp blog, however mod-V is very rusty with her rp-ing and only did so with hetalia in a few discord servers back in 2020-2022. I apologize in advance if it’s absolutely bad.
Oh! Her art stuff is very definitely coming (this is a threat) but I do have a Pinterest board for her in the meantime https://pin.it/4rPVfe1XW there. And if you’re confused about the school stuff section, I like to think that she’s doing some online collage classes out of sheer boredom
If you’re interested in what Sophie looks like or her vibe; all credit go to the users of Pinterest for the photos
Hey Miss Bishop, if you’re trying to write an article about this news and need us to meet up, just let me know
…um.. sure? Sorry if I don’t sound super enthusiastic or anything, I’m just a little surprised that anyone is interested in my work as a journalist. Seeing as I do minor articles for the gossip columns usually.. but this seems important, especially considering to my knowledge, villains don’t usually steal from the museum exhibitions themselves, because value calculation is a bitch and a half and all the real valuable stuff is usually behind like, glass, or swapped with replicas for temperature control based storage, etc. but that mainly depends on the system itself and age. But also like… unless they were stolen in transit, whatever dumbass decided to steal Faberge eggs would have tripped so many sensors
Okay Miss Bishop, first of all, don’t apologize for thinking out loud. Those are exactly the kinds of questions people should be asking.
You’re right about a lot of what you mentioned. The eggs should’ve been extremely difficult to steal without triggering multiple safeguards, which means one of three things: someone had inside knowledge, someone tampered with the system beforehand or the theft didn’t happen the way the museum thinks it did.
The fact that you immediately started questioning the logistics tells me you’re paying attention to the right details. That’s good journalism.
And for what it’s worth, everyone starts somewhere. Plenty of excellent reporters began in gossip columns before getting their first real investigative break. This could be one of those moments if you want it to be.
If you’re comfortable with it, we could meet somewhere public and compare notes. Coffee works. Dinner works too if that’s easier after your shift. You might notice things I haven’t yet.
^o^ for sure! I *just* finished work, I think there’s a cafe somewhere downtown near the GG building? If that works for you. I don’t know, usually I like physical references for stuff like this so any place with reference books works really, I can pick something up on my way there if anything
Also!! Thank you for the compliment? If that’s what that was. I can’t tell.
Downtown works. Let’s make it simple: meet me outside the front entrance of the Gotham Gazette building.
There are a couple of decent cafés within a block or two, and at least one of them keeps a small reference shelf. We can pick whichever one isn’t too crowded and talk there.
And yep, that was a compliment.
Bring whatever notes you’ve got: questions, theories, even half-formed ideas. Sometimes the things that sound the strangest end up being the most useful.
Oh! Okay. I’m in the lobby right now, I usually bring all of my notes and stuff with me when I go home anyway.. so ya. Everything I have is in my bag.
Thank you very much for the compliment, I don’t really get many of those for my intern work…
I’ll see you there ^~^
..oh right. If you don’t know what I look like, I’ve got light brown hair and hazel eyes, if you can’t find me even then, look for the nineteen year old carrying a canvas messenger bag over her shoulder and a gray backpack on her back. If that’s any help too.
That helps, but don’t worry, I’m pretty good at finding people.
Stay in the lobby and don’t feel like you have to keep standing there on alert. I’ll come to you. And bring the bag with the notes. The more context we have, the better.
Also, for the record: good work deserves to be recognized, intern or not. Curiosity and attention to detail are what make good reporters.
The lobby of the Gotham Gazette is quieter than I expected for this time of evening. Fluorescent lights buzz softly overhead, reflecting across polished marble and glass. A security guard behind the front desk notices me as soon as I walk in but doesn’t intervene. In Gotham City, people have learned that if I show up somewhere, there’s usually a reason.
I pause just inside the doors and scan the room. Reporters near the elevators. A vending machine humming in the corner. Cameras in the ceiling. And one person sitting on a couch with two bags and a spread of notes across her lap. Light brown hair. Hazel eyes. Canvas messenger bag over one shoulder, gray backpack resting at her feet. A notebook open across her knees with several loose pages covered in cramped handwriting and arrows. Sophie Bishop.
She’s focused on the notes, writing quickly, occasionally shifting papers around as if she’s trying to connect details on the page. I cross the lobby and stop in front of her. A notebook slips from her lap and slides across the floor. I crouch to pick it up. The page is dense with observations: security systems, alarm circuits, exhibit layout, question marks surrounding the timing of the theft. The thinking is messy, but the instincts behind it aren’t.
“Hi, Miss Bishop.”
I say as I hand the notebook back and glance briefly toward the street outside before looking down at the bags beside her. Notes. Research. Probably half her apartment packed into that messenger bag. Good. If she notices things other people miss, those notes might matter.
<VI MUN HERE. Holy fuck. So. It’s been a MINUTE. Um. I graduated highschool, yay. That’s what took me so long. Also, happy late pride and disability pride. The other reason it took me so long is because I applied for a frickin job. But. I finally sat down and wrote stuff. Please applaud. My hands hurt. So!>
“Oh! Hi! Um, miss… batgirl? I genuinely didn’t realize that… oh.” I said as if to myself before shaking my head as if to refresh my own train of thought, like someone would to an etch-a-sketch before taking a moment to collect myself and continue packing up as I talked.
“I do apologize immensely for that, uh, i just needed to write down some things before they… escaped?” I added as I carefully shoved my laptop into the big pocket of my backpack “could you-“ I trailed of as i gesture to my notebook before realizing that she already was handing it to me, which I nodded in thanks for before stuffing it too, into my backpack before zipping it up and sliding it on myself, my ‘purse’ following suit cross body, I smile slightly at the source of pins on a sunflower lanyard attached to it making a clacking noise as stacked pins do when I moved to stand up.
<v again… I said it wasn’t going to be great. And that im rusty. I’m so so sorry—>
BIG NEWS‼️‼️ BIG NEWS‼️‼️: Our paparazzi team and a large group of fan girls were able to wrangle Batman! But tonight live.. we’re gonna be asking a series of questions to Batman about his secret love life with the one and only SUPERMAN!! And get the juicy gossip!🫵
What do you mean “chat” is now referring to ChatGPT and not twitch chat? What? What? What the fuck? No?
When I address chat I am speaking to a presumed Greek chorus of real human people shitposting on their lunch break, not a machine that devours lakes to covert electricity into slop.
<V is done with her testing! But! It’s gonna take a few days to compile a reply to the only rp she has going rn. She is fried. Many apologies. In the meantime. She is doing an art for the blog.>
<V is on a roadtrip! She’s got more tests next week, but she’s able to rp still until Monday! Please applaud, she plans on making art and stickers for Sophie-mun (?), but the bunnies are staying. She thinks they’re cute + fitting>
