Be Nice To Me by The Front Bottoms but it’s specifically about Jonah and Adam and how their friendship fell apart after they (Adam) started using BPS as an excuse to look for clues about his mother (taking alternate cases)

“I wish we never looked for ___ because she is dead” just implies that Adam really trusted that him and Jonah could succeed in finding clues about her… or that Adam trusted Jonah enough to tell him about his past and after the argument

Damn trust was thrown into the dirt like it was worth nothing in that moment
