Autumn, circa 2015

It’s with ease we slip into these days of youth

With days and nights like these

Days quickly full of autumn

Nights full of breeze and long dreams

Senses shocked alive with color and cold clean air

On pillows and shoulders

Has it always been this beautiful

Have I been awake enough through the days, weeks, years

Decades past, but keen of the newness of now

I am awake

Cooler air permeates

Colors shock and blend, trees dance in slow motion

The crickets are quieter now

The earth getting restful, settling

Dreams flow and go home to days we scarcely remembered

Memories weave with sights, scents

The wind of leaves

The sun bends backwards, downwards, beckons winter

Early nights and cooler mornings

But for now we are children again
