Have you guys seen the outfits in Palaye Royale's cover of Closer? They slap.
Thought I'd draw Andrew in it, but I got a little lazy with the jewelry, my apologies.
Comission for @gothcowboy-sso with their characters!
I was glad to draw these guys <3
The boys! Look at them!! Look at the wonderful art!
@mihrsuri
Hey, idk if you are still going to answer any of this, buuuut 🛩 [PLANE], 📚 [BOOK STACK], 🛸 [U.F.O] Have a nice day ^^
Hey thank you so much for the ask!
🛩 [PLANE] -> Was your Original Character born on Jorvik or did they come here from somewhere else? If so, what was their reason to come to Jorvik?
Andrew was born in Canada. It's his great-grandparents that were both born and lived in Jorvik (and surrounding Swedish areas). It wasn't until his great-grandparents decided to move to Canada and live there during the first big waves of immigration back in the early 1900s. Down to a couple more lines of the family tree, his mum was born. Eventually she'd grow up and meet and marry Andrew's father, and sub sequentially, have Andrew. It wasn't until the economy forced them to move to Jorvik (since Andrew's mom had ties to Jorvik due to family) and settle in Valedale. He was around 17 when they immigrated to Jorvik.
📚 [BOOK STACK] -> What is your Original Character's story? Not just in SSO's canon main story - what is your Character's deal in general?
Andrew was born in Canada; his parents migrated back to Jorvik and decided to settle in the quiet town of Valedale, following his mother's ancient roots. His father pursued scaffolding jobs here and there (mostly GED) while his mother stayed at home to care for her son. The young man fell in love with horses at a young age, and pursued an equestrian career ever since. He longed to learn dressage, but would constantly be halted by his father, as this sport wasn't particularly "masculine" in his words. When he came of age, he moved out and found solace in Starshine Ranch. He learned the ropes of Western riding and horsemanship, earning coin as a ranch hand, saving up enough to get his own horse: a beautiful black coated Dutch Warmblood named Chaos. Self taught, he continued pursuing dressage in a Western world. His love for dressage only amplified when he met the legendary Anne Von Blyssen; their friendship blossomed shortly after, finding comfort and trust in each other, and their passion for the discipline only made them grow closer.
🛸 [U.F.O] -> What is your Original Character's opinion on Pandoria and the 'travel' through time and space taking place across some places in Jorvik? What about other legends and myths of Jorvik that they got to meet in person (e.g. Jon Jarl)?
It's a little hard to comprehend for him. Not because he doesn't understand the innings and workings of Pandorian magic, but it's quite the concept to grasp for a human. Being there physically, helping Soul Riders, experiencing all these "magical" things in real time, when merely a couple years ago he was just a guy that happened to like horses. There's multiple legends and myths in Jorvik, and he has lots of differing opinions on all of them. We'd have to be specific if I was to type that out lol. He's a firm believer that time travel should be done for information and nothing else; you shouldn't tamper with events, needless to say that Concorde quest left a sour taste in his mouth and it was a massive conflict for him. He wanted his (best) friend Anne to have her beloved Concorde back, but the means of doing this were a little too dire and dangerous. With how the quest unfolds later, and chaotic magic being involved, it all falls into place and they both rebuild that friendship that was a little dented over that conflict.
As for Pandoria, he's taken aback at the fact that such a place exists, but is not surprised. Logically, he knows we're not alone in this universe, and the idea of multiverses does cross his mind every now and then. HC: he knows a couple of half-Pandorians and Pandorians besides Ydris, and is actually dating one (Daine). He's cautious with Pandorians, but not in an extreme and distrustful way. He knows what powers they possess, what they're capable of, but understands that they too are living beings that deserve a chance to be understood.
Cheers! Hope this answers your questions.
Nahhh old anime still goes hard.
Would anyone be interested if I offered comms like this?
So. Star Stable's Spotify header.
I saw this on a little trip to SSO's Spotify page to see if they'd released any music without announcing it again and went hm. This looks kind of weird. I sure hope they haven't stooped so low as to use AI for their promo material. And then I looked closer.
First thing I noticed was the stirrups. Or, should I say... "stirrups".
Did they like... employ someone who doesn't know how tack works? What IS that? Also I'm only noticing this as I'm writing the post but why on earth does the boot not have proper laces or eyelets
And what the fuck are these weird straps on the saddle? And the guitar straps aren't attached to the guitar?? Actually... it can't be... but let me look at the hands. Just real quick
Uh. hm. that's not very hand. Are they fucking using AI
OH BOY.
The bit and the reins are... not properly attached to one another, just welded together. The noseband just disappears. The buckles at the top of the bridle don't really exist and the chin strap doesn't fit properly at all. The reins are double on one side, but not the other, and one or both of the reins on the far side almost look attached to the breast collar - or they're just being held a lot looser than the near side rein. Also, you need a very specific type of bit to use double reins, which is not the type of bit that's on this bridle. Or maybe the two weird straps are supposed to be a fucked up martingale, and that's why they're attached to the breast collar? But then why does the horse only have one rein? Also the martingale is attached wrong if that's what it's meant to be, see below (it's never attached directly to the bit). The breast collar is also attached to the underside of the saddle, rather than the saddle itself like it should be. The horse's front shoulder looks like it's drawn by someone who doesn't know very much about horse anatomy, or... y'know... AI.
The cart isn't fucking attached to the fucking horse. Poor guy is dragging that thing along with one singular back leg.
The keyboards all have the wrong number of black keys in the wrong places. And also those knobs do not look right. Oh, and something is DEFINITELY wrong with that drum kit.
And also just look at this fucking horse. Yeah, it's passable as a horse, but have you seen the quality of SSO's horses and horse art??? This isn't even anywhere CLOSE to that
So yeah uh, SSE used fucking AI art for their spotify banner. I feel like this is the greatest punch in the gut they could've possibly sent their laid-off artists' way. You cannot defend this.
WTF, it's so….. awful??? I don't even know what I'm more mad at: the fact that they didn't want to pay any artist to draw header picture, or the fact that they were too lazy to even edit the AI picture??? what's next??!!? maybe we'll see the AI picture on the loading screen soon? why not SSE?? they have so little fucking money to pay good artists
As if I didn't need another reason to stop supporting SSE. I'm halting my Star Coin purchases from now on and the foreseeable future. And don't even dare come in with your "omg just be grateful", I'll chew you up.
I'm not sure if this has been done before (but since those OC polls seem to make y'alls brains go brr - which is valid), I figured we need some

If anybody was wondering like I did, the transformation song in "Brother Bear" had deep meaning.

Holds mic up to the community
Please answer my question i need to know the community’s opinions on this yes im gonna try to update my no-ancient pandorian headcanon sheet
What do you think Pandorians look like? Are they big monster creatures similar to werewolves, tieflings, straight up dragons or something else?
I think of Pandoria as some sort of ethereal/elemental plane from DnD, it affects creatures differently.
For instance, there's fauna that just isn't complex enough (intellectually) to even comprehend that they can change forms or shift planes. Then there's the advanced species or proper Pandorians that are far more complex and have been able to harness that knowledge and control their shifting both appearances and traveling planes.
With my character (Andrew) being infected with Pandorian energy, [[he's also carrying Chaotic Magic due to details I will not get into because that's a huge spoiler for that new quest, but by god do I want to just go off about that]] and the chaotic magic is what's keeping the "infection" at bay.
If he's exposed to Pandoria, it only amplifies that infection, so his chaotic magic has to work overtime to keep his body from shifting to something he can't control.
Pandorians can "choose", in a way, what they can shift to and what they look like. Probably because
They are born there, so it's easier for their bodies to understand how the magic works, so to speak
The magic isn't as erratic or unpredictable to them
They have other Pandorians to teach them
Normal humans, whether by infection or inheritance, might not be as successful when being exposed to Pandoria. They potentially would have a rather painful shifting, and transform into something unexpected or out of their control, due to the lack of knowledge and/or unable to restrain the Pandorian magic.
Star Stable Entertaint to rehire Helena Dahlgren, Christine Lundgren, and Elli Puukangas
You've got yourselves a petition, laddies.
I don't know if a petition will ultimately make any difference. However, it certainly wouldn't hurt to show SSE how much interest there is in the books and comics if they ever find themselves in a position where they can rehire some people.
My reach only goes just so far and I'm still not that great at places like instagram or twitter. So if people would like to spread the petition around, that would be lovely. 💕🙏
For those who might be lacking context for all this, I linked it before but I'll do it again. Post 1 | Post 2
And as a reminder for who made what: The books, of which Helena wrote many. And the site Elli stored all the SSO comics on.
