I have finally played AND finished Echoes of Wisdom, and it was good!
I've 100% it and it was fun for the vast majority of it. My main gripe with it comes from the echoes there are a lot of them and most of them are completely useless (like a useless sign post with nothing on it what's the point?), they often felt redundant and pointless. I often felt like I wasn't doing what the game was expecting me to do or even understood what the game wanted me to do, like in the Orddin volcano it took Igor telling me that you could glide with the mechanical crow to realize what the game was expecting me to do in the volcano well after I had finished the dungeon. I mostly used the water cube for everything, puzzle? Water cube! Exploration? Water cube!
Story wise it was good, no "smart character" doing something stupid for plot progression, the characters were good they all hade personalities and were memorable even side characters. And the finally boss was EXCELLENT! I usually hate the final boss in zelda games, they're usually more frustrating than anything else but Null was actually fun! The second fase was unique and fighting alongside Link was cool. Sure I used only two echoes in the fight the lynel and chompfin but the fact the it was a simple fight was very much to it's benefit.
And to finish I loved that they brought back the river zoras and deku scrubs ( the dekus are my favorite race in the whole franchise) and Tri was very nice if a little repetitive (I could of done without the same text box at the start of every rift).
