the thing about ketheric... is that i don't think he had any delusion that things were ever going to go back to the way it was. i don't think he thinks isobel would forgive him. i don't think he thinks isobel would love him after what he's done and still does. i think he did what he did because he felt like he had to. he said so himself, what kind of a father would he be if he didn't try to save his daughter? but she was already gone. and the grief was too large. did he do it for himself? maybe. but again he never tried to bring back his wife. because she was his wife while isobel was his daughter. and no parent should ever have to bury their child. moonrise, and the whole entire shadowcurse land, were a warped place, twisted and deformed. something was very wrong here. something that shouldn't have happened happened (no parent should ever have to bury their child)... the world has gone wrong and he is powerless to right it. but he is compelled to try anyway as if spellbound, like a ghost haunts a house.
