❤ / ♀ the door is open for both Leon and Claire. :>
//I can see it!
Leon and Ethan both have that kind of survive, get traumatized, used humor to cope kinda thing. I think they can bounce off each other well (poor Chris getting the worst headaches because of these two)
And Claaaaaaaire. Yes! So much sass between them, but also like. Ethan is a sucker for ladies who are able to get shit done, especially if they're confident. If she ever needs a house husband, he's here.
Seriously, tho, I can see it working in any verse after re7. Pre that, Ethan would be sympathetic, but he wouldn't really get it. He would try, but it might be frustrating for either of them 😭😭
It was a normal Saturday morning until Jill made one tiny misstep. Barely even a trip, she already caught herself and seems quite happy to carry on with her day as though nothing happened.
Claire, on the other hand, rushes in with the theatrics. She catches an already stabilised Jill around her waist and spins, bringing her back into a very deep and very dramatic dip as though they're performing a tango. "You really have to stop falling head over heels for me, babe." Her smile is far too bright as she slowly eases Jill from her backwards dip. Slowly, slowly, her partner is just that bit taller than her again. It was a nice change of perspective while it lasted.

Jill was staring unapologetically at Claire's ass when it happened. The way those jeans hugged her hips just so, combined with that hypnotic swing? Utterly transfixed. In the years she'd known Claire she'd always stolen glances, never wavering in her respect for the younger woman, but just tiny peeks. Now that they were together and she knew she was allowed? Well, that changed things. Plus Claire did just as much staring, they always seemed to be in balance.
Speaking of balance, it was while her gaze was fixed on her girlfriend's butt that Jill nearly ate shit on the pavement as they walked. She was graceful enough in her daily life to avoid being tripped up for long, catching herself quickly. Still, she was quite embarrassed, her cheeks tinging pink. The color only deepened further when that ridiculous woman rushes in, spins, and honest to god dips her from a totally neutral position. Normally Jill would be quick with some sassy response, a playful riposte, but Claire's wit and dramatics had left her totally speechless as she gazed back at the woman she loved.
"No", she said, parroting a simple, direct response Claire so often gave her in their relationship. Because that was impossible—Jill was never going to stop falling for this woman. How could she?
His chest softly jolts when a soft cushion is replaced with a 5' 6" frame. A good sign all things considering ── it took time to adjust to the comfortability of day to day living after survival, and an easy sleep was as hard to come by as waking up without a full startle. Did he have his own place and his own bed to go to? Yes ── but the presence of a trusted companion even if they were neck deep into their own work was a simple ease he preferred.
He doesn't open his eyes, but his arms fasten around her waist and adjusts his frame for her to splay comfortably. ❝ Had a blast in there? ❞ Leon mumbles, barely bothering to check the time on the VCR considering the sound of infomercials were in full swing.
His gaze on her with his blue hues shifted like a predator over it's prey. His teeth grinding in his head. She dares to ruin the Ashford name with her filth and disgusting manners..he's heard about the Redfields. How troublesome they could be. And this one had certainly taken the metaphorical cake. His deep breath showed his annoyance as he pushed over an expensive vase.
The vase breaks once it makes contact with the floor. Its form crumbling to pieces as he pointed at Claire. His tone shaky with the implication that he was trying his damndest to not explode in that very moment. His head shook." You dare smother my family name into the ground with your filth?" He shakes his head deeply as he grabs his hunting rifle pulling it over to where he could properly use it.
"No no no..this isn't how that works, Claire. Not one bit. Not while I still run Rockford Prison. You're under MY thumb. And when I say dance..you DANCE.." He aims for her legs. His finger twitching on the trigger as he glares at her through his scope. The first bullet planting itself in the wall behind her.
“I want you…”, well, what a confession – not really, huh? Luis has to grin and smirk at that, a little shy even, with how he avoids to look at her for a moment, even if he is all up close and cuddling to her, kissing her.
“Always. Way too often. You make me go loco… you just stand there leaning back at the beach? I wanted you. Seriously, I considered the changing-cabin for a moment. You sat next to me in the car and the wind tousled your hair? We already have experience with a car… but the worst? The worst?”
He chuckles again, hiding his face in her shoulder a little.
“The church we visited? Stop… stop it, I beg you… actually, no, never stop being you... but I’ll go to prison because of us one day…”
🥀 Claire kisses Leon as if it is for the very last time because she thinks she's gonna die.
KISSY KISSY PROMPTS
It was pure fucking chaos. Leon didn't know which side had the advantage because both the infected and the soldiers were falling one by one everywhere he looked. This must have been what a battlefield in the middle of an all-out war looked like: bodies covering the ground, gored, burned, with gaping gunshot wounds or bite marks. He had to watch his step lest he trip. His boot entered the chest cavity of an infected with a sickening crunch but he sharply yanked himself away and continued on. The heavy smell of blood made his stomach churn. It didn't take him too long to find Claire accompanied by a handful of other TerraSave members.
She was helping civilians reach safety, wearing gear that made her stand out rather than her usual maroon jacket. Terrified people filed out of smoking building with her guidance and were directed to a safer area. He could hear her shouting instructions to stay close together. Shots rang out close by and he flinched as the ting, ting, ting, of ricochet struck the side of the building much too close to Claire and her team. Blue eyes flickered to the source of the gunfire. His heart was pumping hard as he spied a man clad in black tactical gear (one of the soldiers sided against them, likely an elite working under the Connections) taking aim once more. A woman on Claire's team shot back but missed.
She was first to die. A rifle round struck her directly in the chest and she was dead before her body even hit the ground. Acting on pure, honed instinct, Leon launched his hatchet at the soldier. His mark was struck in the left shoulder which rendered that arm useless dead weight. Seemingly determined to eliminate the remaining TerraSave members, he raised his other arm and turned a pistol on them. There wasn't a clear shot to be taken because Leon had already charged at him, tackling him to the ground where they utilized their fists and knives. His foe's blade scored the delicate flesh of his neck but thankfully, did not slice deep enough to seriously wound.
By the end, Leon was on one knee in the mud while his opponent was on both of his and struggling ineffectively to loosen the hold. The DSO agent broke the soldier's neck with a sharp, powerful twist then let him fall face down. Breathing hard, Leon staggered onto his feet and went to where he'd last seen Claire. It was bad. Real fucking bad. One of the men on her team was holding her from behind, both sitting on the ground, and she appeared to barely have the strength to keep herself upright. Hence why her teammate was offering support. Another man was pressing both hands against the gunshot wound on her left side, just below the ribs. Possible ricochet. "Claire-" Leon approached and lowered beside her.
"How bad is it?" He did not like how she seemed to be fighting to stay conscious. The weak look she gave Leon devastated him and he immediately went from hardened DSO agent to crumbling husband. His voice cracked and shook when he said her name again. He was terrified. Losing Claire wasn't something he could handle. She gestured for him to come closer, reaching out until he obeyed and her hands were cupping his face. The touch was weak but tender. His lip was trembling before she kissed him. "Claire," he whimpered against her mouth. A pitiful sound. He was so, so scared in that moment. Afraid that if she closed her eyes it would be the last time he would ever see them.
"Let go of her," he suddenly told the man behind her. She was hoisted up into Leon's arms as gently as possible. Then he moved forward with unshakable determination. Toward the medical tent set up some ways off where she could get proper care. They could call in a medevac... They could save her. Leon was willing to lose limb or life to get her there. He had no idea how long it took but when he did get there, his arms were shaking badly—from the adrenaline or the strain of carrying her for so long and far... maybe both. "I've got you, baby," he whispered upon bringing his forehead to Claire's. "You'll be okay... I love you, baby, I love you so much." She would make it. She had to.
This is something you'd be interested in, he'd said, which was just nicely stating I'm too busy, but you know who isn't? -- which was fine, Ashley preferred this line of defense. Less military-heavy, less yellow tape. Volunteer work felt... beneficial in a way most things in-office wasn't, nothing pending, no laws needed signing, just action. Immediate good. It was a way to help little-by-little, all accumulating into something larger. For all of her Dad's faults, he knew she favored this, the threads she could string with likeminds, the off-the-cuff funding she would insist upon.
Because of course she would.
TerraSave's purpose was to the point. How could anyone say no to humanitarian aid? Especially during such crises, muttered about more predominantly now than ever before, more redacted files, more quiet, less family time--
Okay. Home brain off. Work slash not really work brain on.
(... it's hard to do that when you've got a crowd of black suits following you. Doesn't matter if they're shoo'd away to stand at the door.)
"... Hi," she feels horrifically out of place, all dressed to the nines while everyone else sports something lean and casual, "Claire, right? I'm here on behalf of my Father," a little more hush. "President Graham. Hi. I'd ask if I'm in the right place, but..."
Ashley motions to the wall, bearing too thick a logo to avoid.
"I think I am. Dad speaks highly of your organization! I'm mostly here to -- you know. Make sure things are handled well. Lots of stuff gets lost between the cracks, and I didn't want that to happen here."
The college doors and gates had been closed off for hours, everyone that wanted to leave was promptly sent back in. Despite the seeming importance and severity of whatever the situation was, the student body had been yet to be informed of what was going on.
Among the uneasy students waiting to be let out of campus was Shauna, saving the notes and materials she had been using for her lab class. She'd placed her backpack on a table where a fellow student sat, probably, waiting to be let out as well. She turns to her, finally recognizing that she was one of the Redfields. Everyone knew them, one way or another... which made Shauna feel really uncool for not befriending them before. But she could change that now.
"What do you think is going on? I vote zombie apocalypse or something." Shauna starts the conversation, hoping the other was in the mood for idle chatter. They definitely had time to kill.
