The Two Most Beautiful Lines

Two lines, one word; positive. 

Fingers shaking, I hurriedly ran outside the comfort room and screamed my husband’s name. I was shocked. In state of surprise. I lost myself somewhere in between feelings I couldn’t recognize.

Possibly, because this was not what I expected to see. On my mind, we still have plans to pursue. Big Dreams to build. But, that very thought was replaced by the fact that I will be a mother soon. In a split second, confusion turned to clarity. All I can sense was pure joy.

Holding the pregnancy test result, tears ran down my cheeks as my husband approached me. I was still trembling.

“I’m pregnant”, I said.

And as cliche as it may seem, the husband hugged me tightly and shouted in rejoice as if he won the lottery!

Reality fully struck. We are having a baby.

From that very moment, we realized that our plans and dreams now revolves around our little sweetheart. He/she is now our dream. In fact, the baby turned out to be the biggest dream we could ever hope for!

And this has been the two most beautiful lines I’ve ever encountered.

And So I Left

It’s been a great while since I last posted on this blog. A lot has already happened. But the only thing that I’d like to highlight is my new work.

Yes, I finally took the courage to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to try something new. And most of all, to believe that I am capable of more things.

The decision ain't easy. I had countless of sleepless nights whether to go or not to. I was hesitant and unsure. First, because I love my previous work a lot. Second, the friends that I have there already become a family to me. Last, I was scared of the unknown ahead of me. 

But, I was not getting any younger. If not try to be brave now, when? And then I weighed which is more important. And found that one big reason to leave. 

“To invest for my future (in all aspects)”

And so I left. With a brave heart.

PS. Last July 5th was my 1st month already in the new company I am currently working in. Learned a whole lot of new things already. So far, so good.

PEOPLE WHO REALLY CARE

OCTOBER 13,2016

Do you know someone whom you thought would be there for you when the going gets tough? Someone who would care the most about you? But when bad situations come, they’re nowhere to be found. Then you found yourself with people whom you least expected to care but they were there for you?

So, I was rushed to St. Luke’s Emergency Room last Tuesday night. My legs were feeling numb. It’s the same feeling we get when the dentist injects anesthesia on our gums. It started on my feet the night of October 6. We were alarmed on the day they sent me to Emergency Room because the feeling reached up to my thighs already. As per the doctor, it is some kind of peripheral neuropathy which I don’t have an idea about until I experienced it myself. Well, I’m not going to talk about the details why I got hospitalized because it would be irrelevant and boring. Rather, I want to share my thoughts in this situation.

For others, this is just a simple condition and there are other people suffering from more serious diseases. But that’s my point. Would you care only if it is worse? In this situation, I got random regards mostly from unexpected people. Of course, my mom, my sister, my boyfriend and my closest friend are there for me. I got SMS, calls, letters, cute stuff and others even sent me packed dinner while there’s one who even dropped by at our house just to give me an oil which may help me recover back my senses. Emotionally, it really helps to know that there are people who really care for you.

On the other hand, it is sad that many of the people that I thought would care, DID NOT. It is even disappointing that I got SMS from other people asking for a favor or other things from me when they know my situation. Some even made fun of my condition repeatedly bumping on me because they know that I am feeling “numb”. Okay, I got it that it’s a joke. But is it really right to joke about it? But that’s how it is. It is just frustrating to know that the people whom you thought will be there for in times of need are not there for you.

At least I know the persons whom I can “truly” depend on.

MOVE FORWARD

It was one rainy Thursday morning in September. I got out of bed earlier than usual wanting not to be late for my 9:00 AM work. Unfortunately, it was already 8:50 AM and I was still about 1 KM away from the office. I was stuck in the same position where I was 20 minutes ago.

On that very moment, I only had 2 choices.

1.    To stay stuck and wait for uncertainty

2.    To do something and move forward

It was hard for me to choose because of the “what-ifs” and “buts” which were running on my mind.

What if the vehicle moves after I get off of it? But what if it won’t? What if I get wet due to rain? What if it won’t take much time to just wait and let the traffic flow?

After giving myself enough time to decide, I chose the latter. I chose to get off of the jeep even if it means I have to walk on the slippery floor under the rain rather than just wait and do nothing. I chose to walk the remaining distance and face the hassle rather than stay stuck on where I was.

I felt a great relief the moment my feet touched the floor. Like I was freed from something. At that very moment, one thing is certain – I’m getting to my destination in about 15 – 20 minutes because I did something.

While I was walking, it made me reflect what just happened.

That in some situations in life, there will come a point that we will be needing to choose between those 2 options. Whether to just stay in our comfort zone and just wait for things to happen or step out and do something.

It can be any situation. From living the best out of your life to forgiving someone that hurts you to finding a new job to moving on from a past relationship.

When that time comes, just remember that we don’t have all the time in the world. It’s better to give up the comfort of your seats and face the rain than wait and make no progress. Don’t stay stuck. Whatever situation it is, take courage to move forward.

Spending my Saturday practicing my calligraphy skills just because I can't hangout today and I want to avoid myself from overthinking. So, yeah.. Still suffering from peripheral neuropathy. :(

I can last a day just staring at this photo because...

1. Gab looks really handsome in this photo. (Tee-hee) 2. His beauty in the inside reflects on the outside.

I must admit that I find this man really attractive the first time I saw him. But I controlled my thoughts and all because I know what he was like before.

He was that type of guy who just makes the girls cry. Friday and Saturday nights were social ones for him. You would find him inside different bars dancing with so many different girls. So, I blocked any emotions that can lead up to liking him.

But, who knows we’d be together now? Never did I see coming but really thankful that we had a chance to get to know each other in a very unexpected time and place. Everything was unplanned. (Someday, I’ll blog how it happened).

And now, I thank God that it all happened. And he proved me wrong. He proved me that he’s a keeper, a long-term type of guy. That I was wrong. It’s just that none of the girls he used to have before was “the one”, as he always tells me.

It’s a flattery in my ears when he always says that I am his “game changer”. That he makes himself right for me. And he proves it all to me day by day. Even his closest friends and family tell me that. And now I see a man who is beautiful inside out.

And to this man, if ever you’ll get to read this, Happy Monthsary! I love you so much!

Grateful Girlfriend

It’s cold and rainy outside. Just the perfect weather to reflect about life. As I was thinking about how the years had passed in just a blur, I have also realized how thankful I am that you came into my life. There is a lot of things that I am grateful about you and I have decided to list down the top things I am most thankful for. Thank you…..

1. For fetching me from my office every working day even how tired you are from your own work. 2. For always making sure that you’ll never miss out a day without seeing me. 3. For your surprises during special occasions which include my birthday, Valentines Day, Christmas, Monthsaries and Anniversary. 4. For the bouquets, chocolates, gifts, and surprises I received from you even without any special occasions. 5. For randomly inviting me for a romantic dance on a random day. 6. For understanding my mood swings. 7. For listening to all the random stuff that I have in mind... (even the girly ones). 9. For taking care of me especially when I am not feeling well. 10. For loving me despite my imperfections. 11. For continuously courting me even when you already had my “yes”. 12. For serenading my ears with sincere words of how much you love me... and how excited you are to wake up each day to be with me. 13. For being loyal and faithful. 14. For staying by my side despite all the rocks that our relationship has gone through. 15. And most of all, for planning your future with me. Our future wedding, future kids, future family….. future selves in wrinkled skin and grey hair.

I can’t thank God enough for all these good things. I was never loved like this before. I love you deeply, Gab. ❤

I was secretly staring at you while you’re asleep today. It’s been a long while since I last did this. I became so busy at work that I didn’t have enough time to do things even for myself.

As I was gazing at you, I thanked God how blessed I am to have you as my boyfriend and best friend at the same time. I could feel all the butterflies in my tummy at the thought that this man is mine. All mine.

Loves Me Despite

Date: July 12, 2016

Working beyond my scheduled working hours became normal to me for the past 7 weeks. Mixed feelings of throwing up and headache during the extra time I was spending in the office was nothing new to me. I was so accustomed to the routine which eventually became a habit without realizing what I was missing out.

It was from a random remark of my new officemate and friend, Marla, where I got my eyes open.

“If you didn’t tell me that you have a boyfriend, I wouldn’t have thought that you have one because of the long hours you spend as overtime in the office.”

It struck me, deep within. I bled silently. My thoughts were flooded by pictures of my boyfriend patiently waiting for me at the the lobby.. Gab who still manages to give me a smile even after the long and tiring wait.. Gab who still makes an effort to fetch me from the office just to make sure I’ll be safe home even if he’s also tired from his work. Gab who still wants to spend the remaining few hours with me before the day ends even I am just deep asleep beside him. Gab who ensures that he’ll get to see me each and every day despite my mood swings. Gab who still loves me despite all the despites that I am.

I was too busy at my work without knowing that I missed out a lot of good things. I failed to notice details.. his efforts. Or maybe I know, but I was just too busy to appreciate.

Though frustrated that I cannot turn back time, I learned an important person.

“It’s not about having time. It’s about making time.”

On the positive note, it’s never too late to make it up to him.

I Would Rather

I hate to see you in pain. Whether it is a physical or emotional pain, it breaks my heart. As if I’m the one who is suffering from it.

I remembered when you were rushed to the hospital last year due to chills and high fever caused by the boils in your T-zone area. The doctor said that it was badly infected and to take it seriously since the infection may cause damage to the brain. My heart seemed to stop beating at that time until I got the assurance in your voice that you’ll be okay. It was one of the longest nights I’ve ever had.

I can also remember the pain you went through when you lost your grand mom whom you love so dearly. You were so devastated and shattered. While I can't do anything to ease the pain but simply be by your side.

Truly as they say, when you love someone, you’d rather choose to be the one who’s hurting. Because seeing them suffer is unexplainably more painful.

Crazily In Love

Just this afternoon, I asked Gab if he loves me. Not because I can’t feel it since it is really obvious how much he loves me. But I just wanna hear it.. again and again…

His reply did not fail me.

“If only you could feel how I am feeling right now you would know how crazily in love I am with you.”

Are They Really Fragile?

While having a good conversation with a friend, she mentioned that some people may look fragile but can cause pain to others without them knowing.

Truly as she says, I have met people who were like that. I often think of them as a garden of roses. They look beautiful at far, and even more up close. But you must touch them with caution for they are filled with thorns. Spikes which are mostly covered with their soft leaves.

Sometimes, people are like that. They may look nice and kind. Those whom we thought as gentle and caring as to how they speak.. the ones whom we thought the least that can hurt anybody are sometimes the ones who can cause a deep cut. It can be a stranger, an acquaintance, and even your best friend.

Look closely. Otherwise, you will bleed before you know it.
