Day idk of scraping by and relying on only the grace of God
I read Lord of the World and while it was at times..... very clear it was written by an english catholic pre-vatican 2..... and was at times imo somewhat problematic in ways we would expect for that historical period............ it still legit brought me to tears at the end and I cannot stop thinking about it. Unfortunately, not stopping thinking about it has led to me having several nightmares about the world ending.
I genuinely think that every christian who subscribes to a certain view of evangelization and apologetics should have to spend time with people of a different religion who are trying to proselytize them. It is genuinely a tense and uncomfortable situation *even if you know that this person is doing this because they care about you*, because being in a conversation with someone who wants to change your beliefs and way you live your life is genuinely deeply uncomfortable for most people, regardless of how kindhearted the intentions of the person doing the evangelizing are.
Magnifica Humanitas is literally soo good so far. Like maybe I'm biased because it is touching on several topics that I have held presentations on or taken classes on in the last couple of semesters, but like.. Pope Leo is really popping off with this one. The only thing I heard about it before it was published was that it was about AI but like... it is so sooo much more than that. I honestly think that it's something every christian should read. And tbf I am only on page 13 so far, but I am so hyped about this!!
Lyrics to an old Shaker song, taking off from Matthew 5:6.
this could've been an email a prayer

let's GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another reason why trains would be good is that most people are not good at driving
I don't want my cellphone to have AI I want it to have 3 days of battery time. I don't want my computer to have AI preinstalled I want it to have seven usb ports and high ram at affordable price. I don't want my games to have AI built levels I want them to be so optimized I could run them on a nokia.

Draw him alive and well. Ok now draw him playing sudoku
Now draw him struggling at sudoku in a manner that is no longer endearing and is now embarassing

i adore being confronted with the staggering breadth of what individual people can get obsessed with. there's nothing better than having That One Mutual with an advanced degree in ancient greek tragedy who writes minecraft youtube fanfiction to remind you that anyone can love anything

okay already i desperately need u.s. americans to practice the phrase, "not where i'm from, but maybe in other parts of the u.s."
because it's genuinely insane the things i've heard americans say 'america doesn't have' when it's just factually incorrect.
for some perspective: during my longest move i did by-car in the u.s., i drove ~3,000 miles. That's ~4,800 km. It took nearly 50 hours drive-times alone. Meaning, if I could have driven without stopping once, it would have taken nearly 50 hours. Of course I split that up over several days.
Driving that same distance here, If there's a ferry+road from Rabat (in Morocco) to Kyiv (Ukraine), I could take it and keep on going another several hours.
So you can understand how silly it is for someone from the u.s. to be asked to answer a question on behalf of the entirety of the u.s.—geographically, culturally, etc.
So now that we've said all that, I need you to know that I listened to a guy from Idaho tell an Irish person today, "yeah, we just don't really get snails much in America."
Snails.
Next. Even if someone does say, 'not where I'm from,' you might still want to check that out for yourself:
