I have no cleaver words other than do you know how hard it is to find decent photos of Louis face? Consider this something for the fairytale world. I love you <3
‘ —- i locked the door and hid the spare key. i found your dad’s key on the kitchen counter. so if he’ll ring the door bell, you’ll go down — i climb on the roof and make a speedy exit. ‘
there’s a grin as he glances towards her, his arm slipping around her shoulders as he pulled her closer. ignoring the niggling concern she brought up with her father. what if there had been two spare keys and he still had his –…
‘ how many keys does he have… ‘
“ The fact you have this planned out so perfectly makes me worry. But then how will you get off the roof? “ Grace proceeded to grin just a little noticing a bit of worry on his face now that she menioned her father. “ He has as many keys as he does hats in his hat room.” Now she was just making him a little nervous on purpose.
“All magic does come with a cost, when it makes itself known is different each time.” He’d seen enough to know that little fact; some wishes he would be fortunate (or perhaps the better word was unfortunate) enough to be witness to, many times not. A hint of a smile played on his lips for a brief moment, recalling the master who had absently wished his tea would stop going cold before he could finish it. The man had gotten what he wished for, although he could never be assured of the temperature of the drink. He probably shouldn’t be amused by that, and certainly shouldn’t have been at the time, but a genie’s life could be a bit dull with routine. He had to get some amusement somewhere…and poorly made wishes served that purpose. “Her price may be far higher than the one to all of you who suffered under the curse, in my experience those who toy with dark magic only get burnt in the end.”
This talk of movies was quite something, that and the fact there was no magic involved. Perhaps he and Alice may have to find a way to this Storybrooke to see what Grace spoke of for themselves, as he had little doubt Alice would turn down the idea of seeing the place for herself once it was mentioned. Finding out her old friend was there as well might convince her as well, it was hard to say which would entice her more. “It sounds to be a place Alice would enjoy exploring; she is always keen for adventures.”
Magic was always strange in how it worked, a curse like the one described was far from something he had experience with. Cursed he may be, but it was different and to his knowledge there was no way to break it. “People have a great capacity for forgiveness; that and hatred. At times it is better to forgive, but never forget, which may be the case of some residents in your town concerning the woman who cursed you all. Although I am certainly not saying it is right, you can only do what you feel is best. To be separated from a loved one, it is a terrible fate,” he said, having some understanding of how she more than likely felt to be apart from her father for so long. “Some are talented in acting a part to garner sympathy and forgiveness, if they deserve it or not.” The very idea of Jafar plying such a trick was a hard one to imagine, yet he did have a snake like quality to him…perhaps that was why he fashioned his staff in the likeness of the reptile.
“You are happy now though, or as much as one can be in such a situation?” he asked, head canting to one side as he wondered what exactly her father would think of her traveling to the realm he never wished to speak of. “Was there somewhere particular you were trying to find while in Wonderland? As whimsical as the land is, there are dangers to be found as well. I had an interesting first few days, I must admit.”
Grace wanted to bitterly say that she hopes the queen suffered somehow with that curse, but that would just allow darkness into her own heart. She wanted to be nothing like that woman, she wanted to just have her family back the way it was. But now it was a matter of trying to get an understanding of the ways her father had changed. This was the place that caused so much difference in the man she remembers. She had to see it all for herself, to know. The more Cyrus spoke the more Grace did smile. “You and Doctor Hopper would work well together.” She told him knowing that he’d have no clue to whom she spoke of. Maybe one day if he found himself in Storybrooke she would certainly give him a tour. “ Happy? Yeah. I have my papa back.” Except for what was left of him here. Grace gave a small smile and shrugged. “ I was trying to find answers. Wonderland..It changed my papa a lot. He doesn’t talk about it - probably with good reason. But I’m just a kid. Worse! I’m a curious teenager with a magical hat. I just want to know him better, know what this place did to him.”
“Uh? Sorry, my bad. I Just. Um…”
Yeah no that was horrible. Retry that sentence stupid. Yeah nothing. He was drawling a blank right then and there.
“ Dont’ be, it’s probably just shy. “ Grace chuckled looking back at him. “You can try kicking it. But it may not take to violence.”
Wow. Hearing that from someone that isn’t my mom is kind of refreshing.
“You think he thinks it’s cute?” A girl could dream, couldn’t she? Ethan Craft thinking she was cute was something that most girls in school were going for. “Maybe I should talk to him.”
“ He’s a fool to not to.” though she didn’t think he had too many straws in that head of his to get the whole concept and why it’s cute. She feared he’d only find Lizzie cute for the physical. Or maybe he did have some depth in there somewhere. It was a shame that she doubted that. “ Go for it! “
“ I’ll make sure to give thanks to it later. I’ll offer up a bag of tiny marshmallows as tribute. I’m sure that would appease the chocolate gods.” Grace then shrugged. “ One way to find out, right?”
“That should appease them easily enough.” Lucas laughed. “I guess so. Should I wait for the hot chocolate to start talking or?”
“ If you need liquid chocolate courage to talk to me we can wait, but I’m willing to listen without it.”
Since Grace only wakes up once in a blue moon if you want to find me on one of my (many) other muses, let me know. I’ll tell you where to find me.
‘ — you one of the whipped cream believers? i’ve seen more whipped cream on top of cocoa than i thought i’d ever see in my life. i’m a marshmallow fan to be honest. marshmallow cream if i’m splurging. ‘
he’s not entirely sure how to help her, she seems disoriented – beyond merely bewildered. and so he does his best to help in what meager ways he can. after all it’s apparently all due to something he’s done.
‘ i’m robert by the way — not sure if i ever did a proper introduction .’
“ .. whipped cream believers? Oh! Yeah...” It was seeing his face again, those eyes and knowing that he looked at her and saw a stranger. Wouldn’t be the first time she lost someone to a certain kind of strangeness. Grace felt maybe it wouldn’t be her last. But she couldn’t just walk away from him. She didn’t want to. “ Grace.” she offered her hand for a shake though her hand was certainly trembling. “ So, marshmallows, huh...?” Well that certainly made her seem intelligent, didn’t it?
❝ look, if i'm going to help you bake, you can at least put up some actual music, g. ❞
“ This is classical music! It’s actual music. It’s perfect for baking. Sets a certain kind of mood, don’t you think?”
I’m not dead, just holidays are killing me.
I did some drafts, go me?

“ The longer you stare it , the less likely it has of working. “
There was some grain of truth within all stories, although in the case of this book that turned out to be a whole different tale altogether. “It was magical then, and from what you have told me it seems there was no cost to this magic?” he asked, moving away from how it came to be and the actual purpose of it. The latter was obvious now; to help them remember who they were, somehow. “The people of the town must have been pleased to be their true selves once more.”
If the book was curious, this was far more. The genie listened to Grace as she went about explaining what exactly a movie was. Of course the only way to truly understand would be to witness this creation, but while the saying went anything is possible in Wonderland he had his doubts these movies were. “The people in the realm you reside in have found a way to…” He wrinkled his nose a bit, trying to think of the word he wanted. “…preserve a play so you may view it when you please? A rather odd bit of magic, and perhaps one day Alice and I shall find our way to this Storybrooke. It is a rather interesting sounding place.” With the wanderlust the two shared, it would be little wonder to end up this strange place one day.
“Alice has a way about her, she makes all feel at ease. I do not believe she cares to see anyone suffering alone; she would have been certain your father was not left without company for long if she could help it.” From what he’d heard of the stories, she had travelled from Wonderland back to England from time to time, then there was the movement of time between realms. That and the fact the whimsical realm seemed to work on its own rules at times as well. “I believe she would enjoy meeting you as well Grace, your father may have spoken about you to her. I am unsure, family is a topic she is not as keen to discuss, although I believe we all have our troubles that we prefer to keep to ourselves unless we find the need to talk.”
Cold tea…it seemed wrong. And this was coming from someone whose city of origin was in a desert climate. “We all have our different tastes, I believe Alice isn’t overly fond of the tea I enjoy,” he replied, shrugging as he laughed softly. “Did they find themselves in this Storybrooke due to the curse as well? Along with your father, I heard there were a few others who went missing as well.” The Queen of Hearts wasn’t missed, then she had a someone capable of taking over where she left off, giving the people little time to truly miss her.
“Oh there was a price - “ Grace stated bitterly. “ - I just somehow think we paid it instead of the woman casting it.” Forever would she hold on to this hatred for the queen. The woman who took her father from her for so long. But she would then force a smile and a laugh when he asked about the play. “Something like that. I’d show you if I could but I couldn’t fit all of that into the hat.” This was her only magic much to her father’s displeasure. She inherited a lot from him and magic for the hat was just one of those things. And she chose this place to get a better understanding of what her father went through to come to. So far it didn’t seem so dangerous and she hoped to remain in that illusion for as long as she possibly could. And Cyrus was certainly making it a joyful experience thusfar. “ They did. I’m not sure how the spell works. My father was in Wonderland and was taken to Storybrooke. Some people stayed in the forest, I believe. The Enchanted. I guess it was whoever the Queen wanted to bring with her, it was her curse after all....I don’t know her history with my papa. He never talks about it. I don’t blame him. What she did was and is unforgivable. Though it seems a lot of the town certainly found a way to forgive her lately...”
I somehow broke my “about” pop up and I don’t know how to fix it :{ And I can’t use theme recovery as I’m getting the stupid “cannot find page” crap. Again. So uh, yeah may turn that back into a normal link until I figure out what and how I broke it.
Lucas laughed. “It guess I saved your ass, then.” He replied before taking her hand. “I can’t promise that it’s anything spectacular, it might even put you to sleep, who knows.”
“ I’ll make sure to give thanks to it later. I’ll offer up a bag of tiny marshmallows as tribute. I’m sure that would appease the chocolate gods.” Grace then shrugged. “ One way to find out, right?”
arms slipped around the girl she’d raised as her own daughter, while the fact of their coming together was less than ideal, it was no less loving. despite the arguments and the rough patches, they had made it – they were still as much mother and daughter as they could be.
and so to see her child fall in love – to have someone love her in return – was without doubt one of the better moments in her life.
‘ don’t thank me —– just decide whether you want to spend your life with him or not. then thank me after we pick out your dress –. ‘
“ That makes it sound like you’re sure I’m going to say ‘yes’. Maybe I wouldn’t mind living in a bit of sin with us in a house and no ring, no wedding. Hm?” But of course Grace wanted those things. She wanted the white wedding, the big cake, the guests, the dancing - but she didn’t like to admit that she was that level of a hopeless romantic. Nerd was good enough.
