WHEEL & WAVELESS
I recently travelled to Biarritz to shoot a personal project which involves a lot of my loves- travel, portraits, surfing, skateboarding and motorbikes!
All portraits shot with V Series Hasselblad using B&W Tmax 400 film.
I’ve turned this into a book which you can see in GIF form.
The foreword reads as follows-
‘Wheel & Waveless’
For the past six years, people have been drawn by their common passion for custom motorcycles and surfing to descend upon the wild Atlantic surf coast of South-West France. Sharing the knowledge, appreciation and simple pleasures that these two passions bring, they have gathered in the seaside town of Biarritz for the annual 'Wheels and Waves' festival, which has grown through its infancy to become a four-day celebration of mechanics, surfing, art and music.
Enticed by the nomadic sense of adventure, and sharing the same passion for surfing, motorcycles and travel, in 2015 I too would join the pilgrimage to the Basque coast. I wanted to capture the ethos of the event and the diversity in the unique characters that flock to it each year.
I am a firm subscriber to the belief that "It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters in the end," and this could not have rung more true than on this trip. Driving from London to Biarritz with a friend in his custom camper-van and custom bike in the back, we spent one-and-a-half days traveling to the event - a journey that should have taken a mere 12 hours.
Having endured a blown turbo in the van, two punctured tires, a dodgy rental car, torrential rain, and an accommodation mishap, our journey was undoubtedly eventful though far longer than expected. After subsequently missing the first day-and-a-half in which the surfing section of the event was held, I finally managed to get what I was looking for.
Like I said, "it is the journey that matters in the end."

Mark Cavendish
I recently had the pleasure of shooting Tour de France cyclist Mark Cavendish for Oakley at their new cycling concept store in Exmouth Market. Mark helped design the new Jawbreaker sunglasses.
Always great to see photographs actually come to life and make it to the printer and not just a computer screen. Some of my latest work 'Shoreditch Nights' hanging in a new clients living room.
Portfolio prints fresh from the printers. Exciting times!
The Man Behind The Model
Is a personal project of mine which I wanted to focus more on the charter of the model than the clothes in the photo.
For so long I have wondered what the man behind the model is like? What do they do apart from modelling?
Models are used like blank canvases for art, fashion, advertising etc. This project was aimed at getting something more out of them than just seeing clean cut men in expensive clothes. I wanted to see their personality and character.
The Fashionisto have published the project. The 9 portraits also come with a Q&A with all the models to dig a little deeper and see what makes them tick.

CHOPPER TIME
Last week I had the chance to hop on board for a chopper ride up to Silverstone. With barely room for two people in the cabin you really do feel like you're buzzing around in a tin can!
ABANDONED BERLIN
On a recent trip to Berlin over the New Years period I shot a series of images noticing how lifeless some parts of Berlin are surprisingly.
Walking through parks and streets in the Neukölln area it was like the place was completely deserted. Lifeless trees, people less parks & streets, this series of images was shot on Tmax 400 B&W film with V Series Hasselblad.
A reminder of the bitter cold that makes it's self home over the European winter.
WINTER WONDERLAND
Chamonix Mount Blanc would have to be one of the most beautiful places I've seen around Europe if not the world. Not many places in the world you actually stop dead in your tracks to just stand there and admire the view.
Spending Christmas/New Years snowboarding in the French Alps is an insane experience and one that makes you wanting more. I think I need to do a shoot here.... very soon.
Happy New Year everyone!

SHOOTING ADVENTURE ROYALTY
A couple of weeks ago I shot Kenton Cool, 11 times Mount Everest mountaineer for Fucking Young Magazine's 'Mountain' Issue. It was Kenton's first fashion shoot, we didn't have glamorous weather but if anyone is at home outside in the elements it would have to be Kenton.
An inspirational character and all round nice guy, my shoot with Kenton will be out in stores mid-October so look out for it!
JET AXEL
My portrait series & write up of South London underground musician/producer JET AXEL is now live at Fucking Young magazine.
