You guys, Bee and Puppycat is really freaking good! I have a lot of questions, but it’s really good.
First to be made, last to be posted.
Okay. Only one more, I promise.
This might be my favorite of my senior art show watercolors. :)
Yup. More nighttime watercolors from my senior show.
Another one of my senior art show watercolors.
I can’t believe I never posted these watercolors from my senior show.
Here’s another thing for art club. The assignment was to fuse 2 animals, and I chose to fuse a wolf and a newt. I’m also messing around with different styles still. I followed a tutorial by Toonimated (http://toonimated.com) for the coloring. I think I might keep messing around with the style a bit more.
Trying to figure out pixel art for my summer art club. I used this tutorial right here http://2dwillneverdie.com/tutorial/a-basic-sprite-tutorial/ as a guide. This is my first foray into pixel art, but I hope to make more in the future.
Here’s a self portrait I did for my summer art club. The assignment was to do a self portrait in the style of a show, movie, or video game. I chose to do Legend of Korra, which turns out is actually pretty hard to do in a culturally sensitive way, as a white guy.
Trying to get back into the swing of making stuff again. Thought I’d do some Steven Universe fan art. These last few episodes of have been great!
“The first concussion cut the rocket up the side with a giant can opener. The men were thrown into space like a dozen wriggling silverfish. They were scattered into a dark sea; and the ship, in a million pieces, went on, a meteor swarm seeking a lost sun.”
~Ray Bradbury
“I met a traveller from an antique land Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed: And on the pedestal these words appear: 'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!' Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away."
~Percy Bysshe Shelley
Wynken, Blynken, and Nod one night Sailed off in a wooden shoe — Sailed on a river of crystal light, Into a sea of dew. "Where are you going, and what do you wish?" The old moon asked the three. "We have come to fish for the herring fish That live in this beautiful sea; Nets of silver and gold have we!" Said Wynken, Blynken, and Nod.
The old moon laughed and sang a song, As they rocked in the wooden shoe, And the wind that sped them all night long Ruffled the waves of dew. The little stars were the herring fish That lived in that beautiful sea — "Now cast your nets wherever you wish — Never afraid are we"; So cried the stars to the fishermen three: Wynken, Blynken, and Nod.
All night long their nets they threw To the stars in the twinkling foam — Then down from the skies came the wooden shoe, Bringing the fishermen home; 'Twas all so pretty a sail it seemed As if it could not be, And some folks thought 'twas a dream they'd dreamed Of sailing that beautiful sea — But I shall name you the fishermen three: Wynken, Blynken, and Nod.
Wynken and Blynken are two little eyes, And Nod is a little head, And the wooden shoe that sailed the skies Is a wee one's trundle-bed. So shut your eyes while mother sings Of wonderful sights that be, And you shall see the beautiful things As you rock in the misty sea, Where the old shoe rocked the fishermen three: Wynken, Blynken, and Nod.
~Eugene Field
“For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.” ~Vincent Van Gogh
“The true joy of a moonlit night is something we no longer understand. Only the men of old, when there were no lights, could understand the true joy of a moonlit night.” ~Yasunari Kawabata
I felt like doing something fall themed, so here’s an Over the Garden Wall piece.
