To me, moon square venus is a bit of a romantic red flag, especially if the person hasn’t learned to deal with it. This aspect makes it a struggle for one to satisfy their need for love and affection, it’s a constant battle between what you want and what you need, in terms of love. When they get what they want, they’re not getting what they need - and when they get what they need, they’re not getting what they want. For example, the man I’m talking to has Leo moon & Scorpio Venus: the type of woman he is comfortable with (moon) and the type woman he is attracted to (Venus) clash. Because the square creates a tension, he will be on an endless search to find the ‘right’ partner. This is an aspect commonly found in cheaters, it’s often difficult for people with this placement to have both his emotional needs and his capacity to love fulfilled by just one person. Not to say that person will cheat because of this aspect. How do you think sun square moon and moon trine venus work 'together' in someone's chart? moon/venus is like emotional harmony? But sun square moon isnt? I'm confused.

Sun square moon is like having your ego not match up with your emotions. One is like “hey I want to act detached and aloof like I sort of kinda hate things but also I’m just super different and unique and I kinda like the whole you don’t know me shindig(Aquarius sun).” But then having the other one like “wow people are so cruel, why doesn’t anyone reach out to me? Can’t they see I’m hurting? I need affection why is not one paying attention to my feelings? Ugh I hate how detached people think I am? Can’t they see I’m seeing right through them? Bastards(Scorpio moon).” It’s basically a really strange imbalance between what people perceive you as and what you really are like deep down. It requires a lot of growth and constant adjustment but it’s possible! It just requires a lot of self awareness and often people who have harsh sun and moon aspects tend to be extremely self aware at a young age due to the constant inner conflict of the ego v emotional realm. They feel a need to satisfy both or in the early years one or the other. Sun and moon aspects also have a Leo x cancer flare so it can cause over dramatization of emotions and often moody personality displays.

Moon square venus is more like “I love aggressive men! Yes take control! Be on top! Harsh vibes and attitudes(Aries venus) but really wanting “I kinda wish they would just talk to me though :( like really sit down and hear me out! I have feeling don’t you know? Not everything has to be so aggressive and impulsive :( (cancer moon)” and this pattern of thought creates a tug of war between ones desires for affection and or security on a Venusian level v their emotional comfort and security on a sentimental level. The heart and the soul are very important and when the two can’t agree this can create a native whom is restlessly searching for that love that seems missing in their heart in a way. This aspect can be present in the case of a childhood that was in a sense full of love but love in a way that didn’t really fulfill the child! I Recommend these natives date someone with Saturn or even strong Pluto as a means of keeping them calm and being the one who wears the pants as they tend to be a bit lost when it comes to their own desires in the early stages!

I decided to make a post about this since the 4th house is one of my favorite overlays in synastry and I’ve had a lot of experience with it. Especially when mutual, it creates a feeling of being at home with one another and overall, comfort.

Common Themes

The word most associated with this house in synastry is comfort. In this kind of synastry, a deep bond is created and each partner may feel exposed and as if they can be their complete true self. Certain wounds and the deepest secrets can resurface as the person essentially lights up the most secret part of you. This comfort can quickly turn into discomfort, however. The 4th house is a private house and having planets fall there is as if someone has interrupted a safe haven you used to hide in and find solace in (The discomfort is especially true and apparent when Saturn is involved). The open expression of emotions is encouraged.

Another common theme is planning for the future, planning to live together, building families, etc. (depends on the nature of your relationship). It’s not a secret that many look to be around or with those who bring them comfort so 4th house synastry can find the two people talking a lot about future houses, apartments, etc. (sometimes marriage!) — basically where they’re going to live and the kind of home they want to create.
