a hum as fischl lowers the papers in her hands & turns her gaze to meet the man’s gaze – she’s dead silent for a few moments too long , as if trying to get a read on her newest temporary companion , before the tilt of her head & a smile that seems almost forced shows that she’s decided that he’s alright for now . whatever will get the job done so she can continue to builld her reputation , she’ll trudge through it without hesitation .

another moment passes before she finally realizes that she’s crushing the evidence within her hand , & a soft ‘ oh ’ escapes her mouth as she quickly pulls her hands upwards in an attempt to smooth it out . as to try to save her impression towards this gentleman – claire , right ? he just said it , so hopefully she hasn’t gotten it wrong already – she clears her throat & attempts to make herself bigger by puffing up her shoulders .

you notice her floundering , but pretend not to ------ the best way to deal with people like this is just to pretend not to notice their messups , right ? you might know it’s fake from the get - go , but if she’s earnestly trying to solve this case , then she’s one of the good people of your world , so this kind of effort is alright . and she’s helping out with your job , too .
❛ hahaha , if i’d have known i’d be meeting royalty i’d have cleaned up a little better ! ❜ the implication for her to follow is there when you start to walk past her , glancing back only briefly , showing respect befitting of a princess only in your words and not in your actions . that doesn’t make it any less tangible , of course , but you hope it doesn’t bother her too much . ❛ anyways , you’re probably not far off , but i can’t shake the feeling he was gettin’ into stuff the adventurers’ guild didn’t know about . no one goes this far over somethin’ innocent unless it was some kinda existing feud , but we’d have been told about that if something like that was goin’ on . ❜
plus , it’s possible that this wasn’t done out of a disagreement , but out of greed . if that guy was researching something more fruitful , someone in the know wanting that knowledge isn’t out of the question either .
