*waking up from my slumber* wait did someone say mighty nein animated series????????

okay but jokes aside!! it's been a very long time since i've written here, huh? i've talked about it on this blog plenty of times before, but... yeah - i honestly struggle writing on my cr blogs often, and the main reason for that is i'm always thinking about the fact that i haven't actually watched the majority of critical role. outside of feeling like a "fake fan" so to speak, i've found it means that since i'm not familiar with the worldbuilding and lore of the series, i worry a lot that my portrayal and writing will contradict canon, and so whenever i've been on here i've always been very inconsistent with my writing???

so i honestly dropped out of the fandom for a good while as a result of all that, which is why i haven't been around. BUT!! i just found out about the fact that we (may be??) getting a campaign 2 animated series at some point in the future and had a HOLY SHIT moment because like. i might actually be able to watch it!! i'll finally be "caught up" with the whole m9 story, even if it'll be a compact form of it that i'm seeing!

now of course i haven't seen the first animated season for campaign one, so i don't know how good the animations actually are?? i would love to hear from you guys what you think of them and if they provide like, enough to get the core cr experience or not, but... i am crossing my fingers that this means i'll be able to write here properly one day. ironically my muse has revived a bit from that possibility alone despite it not being released yet, so i'm gonna try and maaaybe write here again even earlier than that, but overall...

tldr; i've been gone a long time, and likely won't be very active even now my muse is back - but when the m9 animated series someday releases i'm hoping to come back here and be active properly for once. so that's my update for you all! i hope you're all doing great and i'm so sorry for the long silence <333

Sometimes, Kingsley is hit with a strange rush of emotions when he sees Jester.

Now, sometimes used to be all of the time, but as he got to know her better, those feelings started to settle down as well. Still, it’s weird, right? An abrupt fondness that overwhelms his senses, a feeling of guilt so strong that he can barely stand it... Kingsley has always insisted that the one who came before him is nothing more than a brother, but if that’s the case, then why do these emotions feel so much like his own?

Thinking about what that might mean scares him more than anything.

But today, the feeling that decides to strike him unexpectedly is different to the ones that’ve come before. It’s more like... a bittersweet kind of nostalgia? And a face, hazy and lacking in details, floats to the center of his mind before vanishing like smoke. A girl’s face - but it looks like his.

He’s sure the stunned expression on his face must show, at least for a moment. But he covers it up with what he hopes is expert skill, giving her a confident smirk as if nothing ever happened.

“So what’s on your mind, Joy? I haven’t seen you this excited over something in a while.”

the epilogue though... kingsley and molly shaking hands and "something new” (kingsley) being born... i feel like it’s at the very least somewhat implying that kingsley is the combination of lucien and molly, which makes me so happy because that is EXACTLY what i wanted!!! i never thought it’d actually be hinted at, i’m ;~~;

okay i’m gonna work on replies and starters i owe today as well but like this post for a mollucien starter! specifically, that’s molly/lucien with both sets of memories, having been revived post-canon instead of kingsley. i tend to have the most muse for mollucien threads so feel free to like this even if we’ve already got something ongoing, since i’m always happy to do multiple threads!
