Ough I bet poplar wood is gonna look so good next to mushroom stem... new gradients are being unlocked....
THIS UPDATE WAS MADE IN A LAB FOR ME. AUTUMNAL FOREST. COLORED LEAVES AND BUSHES. POPLAR WOOD. WOOL SLABS AND STAIRS. MUSHROOMS ON THE SIDE OF LOGS?????????
I genuinely cannot express how much I am excited for this drop. I love plants so much. This is like autism 9/11 for me. They hit both towers. It's over for me. Another nature focused Minecraft drop.....
no ones talking about SHELF FUNGI????
DECORATORS WE'RE EATING TODAY
HOLY FUYCKJ TYEYSSSSSSSSSSYESYESYES
minecraft autumn biome. i will never be normal about this, this has been number one on my most wanted list for ages. and specifically a biome too, not seasons
this is the only biome i will care about for the foreseeable future, may as well just remove every other biome smh
eyyy autumn forest biome with a new grey wood type?? how is this everything i specifically was hoping for

continuous/redstone-activated geyser bursts!!! these'll be so useful for redstone and for decorating :3
also new music disc? and a friends list to finally play with other ppl without buying a Realm?
as per usual mojang listens to the community when they have a good idea. when they have a GOOD idea.
time to watch the rest of this asshat fandom conveniently ignore that
most people who call mojang 'lazy' and their recent updates 'unfinished' only call them that because the latest drop didnt add their Extremely Specific Fanfic Suggestion that either is some weird ask that got no traction or was a Community Suggestion:tm: that the devs probably have heard (because they listen to the community! why do we forget!) and went "hm yeah we dont like that idea, its bad"
because usually, its bad.
What do you mean. Surely every developer wants to add the extremely niche features their fanbase wants. That's how gamedev works /j
mojang are so lazy, they didnt even add Sulfur & Cinnabar Tiles. a thing i'm sure was something that was at the top of their pitch notes and they only didnt do because theyre so lazy.
minecraft is the game of a million sidequests. this you must remember.
if you only want things that impact the "core gameplay loop", then i have bad news: the core gameplay loop has been finished and perfected a MILLION YEARS AGO. It's DONE and its GOOD and its COOL and thats what Minecraft is. If you want a different core gameplay loop, please I beg of you go play a different game.
What Minecraft needs to add, and what Minecraft has been adding, is new stuff. Expand outward, not inward. Add a brand new cave biome that I have a chance of finding in every new world, with new blocks and mobs and all that. Add a biome that's super rare that I'll have to really hunt for and get lucky to find, but it has its own wood type and a unique hostile mob and a new armor trim color.
"minecraft is the game of a million sidequests" has always been my shining light
nothing hammers home my 'minecraft is the game of a million sidequests' belief more than my repeated "Collect Every Item in 100 Days" challenge runs that I love doing.
Because I guarantee you, I get diamond gear and full diamond armor by day FOUR, usually have the dragon dead by day eight and have already got my elytra up and off to the races by day TEN. Progression sorted, grab my max enchanted gear from the end cities, use the dragon levels to enchant what I didn't get (Looting and Fortune are must-haves), and then the real fun begins.
Because what side quests do I have to prioritize to truly get every item in Minecraft?
Fly to every biome and collect every wood type
Drag home armadillos, frogs, and goats for their respective drops
Create a little minecart hopper contraption to hatch turtle eggs + grab their scutes, and later to collect sniffer plants
Find and loot Ancient Cities
Excavate out Trail Ruins
Run through Trial Chambers and Ominous Trial Chambers
Loot Shipwrecks, Ocean Ruins, and Buried Treasure for 2 Diamond Nautilus Armor
Find different biomes for their unique materials, such as Badlands for red sand & terracotta, Swamps for blue orchids, Coral Reefs for all 15 types of coral + sea pickles, and basically something new for every biome
Loot other structures like Desert Temples, Jungle Temples, Ocean Monuments, Woodland Mansions, Pillager Outposts, Desert Wells, and more for all their unique items.
Trade with villagers for the globe banner pattern, chainmail armor, and all the cartographer maps (and maybe snag a mending villager for my elytra if I didnt find a book earlier)
wait for a thunderstorm to get charged creepers for mob heads
literally dozens more things
that's not to say that there's nothing to be added to change or at least effect the "core gameplay loop", like adding Bundles for increased storage capacity (godsend for this challenge), Copper Armor to slightly buff up you in your first nights if you need it, Spears to provide an alternative melee weapon. But you'll notice that all of those things were added in drops - Recent Drops. MOJANG FUCKING DOES THE THING YOU WANT WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR YOU INSANE SONSA BITCHES!!
the new baby squid are so cute oh my goodness
Opinions on new baby squid?
I love the new baby squids! :D My favorite thing about them is how they have one singular tooth... baby is still teething..
I’m looking for build ideas for my forever world!!! Any suggestions?
Oooh!! Okay, I have a few!
- A spawn point monument of sorts! I'm very fond of builds that mark the world spawn, especially in forever worlds. Could be something simple like a fountain or you could do something bigger like a big compass floor mosaic! Maybe have a little area with some extra food and basic tools in case you ever die and don't have your spawn set so you can get back to where you were easier...
-Build an automatic farm! Could be something non-redstone and semi-automatic like converting a dungeon spawner into an xp farm, something with pretty simple redstone like a bee farm or a sugarcane/bamboo farm, or something more advanced if you're feeling up to it. I personally really enjoy making farms from time to time to break up my time spent just building, and it's also nice for the long term to have since it'll save you time getting materials.
-Not a build per se, but if you have any buildings that are empty, find some mobs and move them in!! Villagers tend to be the first choice since they're humanoid, but honestly you can get very silly with it if you feel like it. I have dogs and camels and turtles and striders running shops and if that's your cup of tea, it is very fun and brings a lot of life to your world ^^
You sparked a lot of inspiration with the mobs!!! I have lots of empty buildings and the new baby strider textures are so cute they might just wiggle their way into being shop owners….
I have a cute garden for my spawn!!! It’s in the middle of my city so I don’t have a ton of room now LOL- I might redo it and add a compass mosaic tho. That’s an awesome idea. I just found your blog and you are so lovely and I love your builds. Thanks for responding!
I attached a pic of my world- I wanna show off a bit. Everything is built in survival! :)
Yayy! Glad I could help some!! Your world looks really fun and whimsical!
