INTRODUCING GRAYSON :

He chuckled and shook his head as he listened to his brother talk. "Is it?" He said and watched his youngest brother look at his daughter and then looked at her as well. "Maybe to you. She'd never give that to her dad." He said and placed a soft kiss to Nellie's head. "Only mild chaos, huh? Maybe that'd be fine in a few years." Brody told him. "You can definitely keep your fun uncle status. Just don't tell Anthony and Cohen there's a competition for that. But now I know there is for Clara so, bring it on." @graysonblakexx
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇
Grayson let out a small scoff, touching the back of his neck. Although his tone stayed light. He was happy that his brothers were figuring out their lives. “Please,” he spoke, glancing at Nellie, then back up. “Good luck with one, dude. Clara and I already have an understanding. I’m trying to build my entire fun-uncle empire. You wouldn't stand a chance.” He straightened, his typical crooked grin crept onto his lips. He was clearly enjoying himself. "I’m just the uncle who shows up with slightly too-loud toys, some questionable advice, and lots of snacks her parents didn’t sign off on. Every kid needs one of those.” And Grayson liked that self-described role. It was the one he was comfortable in and the one he knew he could keep constant. “Seriously, if Anthony or Cohen start acting like they’re competition, I will just remind them who the fun Blake is. Spoiler alert, it’s me.”
(@brodyblake)
At the other's question, Wren's head tilted, putting on his deepest thinking face. "Hm, depends on whether you're asking me now, or me a year ago." He leaned forward, folding his hands under his chin as he thought on the question more. He knew what he would have done when he had all the money, the friends, and the shiny things, but now, he wasn't sure. "I guess before I would have tried to find the owner. I didn't need the money. Now..." He paused, his lips pursing in thought. "I think I'd keep it." He wasn't exactly lacking in cash, and it wasn't as if his father had cut him off completely, but knowing that their relationship was different now, he didn't like using his father's money much anymore. "I don't know. Maybe that makes me a bad person."
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇
Grayson's mouth twitched into a smile before leaning back a little. “I mean, really, if we think about it... What was I supposed to do, stand around asking strangers if they lost a twenty? ‘Hey, anyone missing some cash?’” He let out a quiet laugh. Grayson tried to be a good person most of the time, but that felt futile. “Honestly, I feel like the universe would just get bored and take it back if you waited too long. Then you're out twenty bucks and no benefits.” He shrugged his shoulders. “If you’re broke, you keep it. If you’re not, buy someone a drink. That’s the rule. Balances all those weird-ass cosmic forces.”

Grayson spots the other and lifts his chin in a small greeting. “Okay, I was gonna mind my own business, but then I realized I don’t actually feel like doing that right now.” Grayson always had a tendency to talk to people, whether they wanted him to or not. Some would argue that he just didn't know how to stay quiet. But he just chose to believe the conversations always came easily to him “How’s your day been treating you so far?”

Grayson looks up from his phone, glancing at his friend with an easy half-smile. “Okay, settle something for me,” he says, sliding the phone onto the table giving the other his full attention. “If you find twenty bucks in the parking lot, are you morally supposed to try to find the owner… or are we saying we just accept it as good karma or some shit like that?” He leans back slightly. “Because I’m trying to figure out what kind of person I am today.”
@wrxnxashby
River looked over at him for a moment debating anwering him or not. Since he wans't in the best mood, but most of the time he wasn't in a good mood. "I think you should do whatever you want" he sat back he was here to not drink so he was hoping he could fight it. "But most of the time we have had so much coffee , sodas, and shit that it doesn't affect us anymore, so you end up needing a few cups a day to get by." @grahamxweber
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇
Grayson watched River for a second, deciding whether to poke further or let it be. The brunette wasn't one to keep quiet very often. More often than not, he chose to fill the silence. “That’s a very neutral answer,” he said, lips twitching slightly. “Dangerously mature. I was kind of hoping you’d enable me.” He reached for the sugar packets, lining them up to keep his hands busy. “You’re probably right, though. At this point, it’s less about caffeine and more about the placebo effect. I just like the ritual of it.” He shrugs one shoulder. “Makes me feel like I’ve got momentum.” He glances sideways at River again, putting the sugar packets down. “But I respect the ‘do whatever you want’ energy. That’s solid life advice.”

Brody chuckled as he listened to his youngest brother talk and held his daughter. It almost felt like it was a surreal moment, one he never thought he would have, but he was happy this was happening. "And you're telling me this as she's a newborn thinking now I'll leave her alone with you?" He joked with him. Maybe one day he would, but he knew neither him or Rory was gonna let their daughter out of their sight for anything. "You're planning to corrupt her, Grayson." @graysonblakexx
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇
“Corrupt is such a strong word,” he said, lowering his voice and glancing down at his niece with a smile he can't quite hide. Grayson wasn't sure he'd ever slow down enough to have kids of his own. He wasn't even sure he wanted them yet. But his nieces? He'd do anything for them. “Look at her. She already has the Blake side-eye. That’s genetic. I’m just here to nurture it.” He glances back up at Brody. “She just needs to know she’s got options. You know? Rules at home. Mild chaos with me.” He shifted his weight, hands still tucked in his pockets. “But yeah. I stand by fun-uncle status. I’ve been training my whole life for this.”
(@brodyblake)
Anthony looked up as Grayson slid into the booth across from him, lips parted. Yet, it was like his youngest brother could read him like an open book. He listened, fighting back the urge to chide him about stealing the fry from his plate. Anthony shook his head, "I actually wanted a burger," he started, an obvious but coming as he plucked a fry from his own plate. "But, I just wanted to let you know the business venture that me, Brody and Cohen are getting into." He started, wanting to include the youngest of Blake brothers. "You don't have to invest in it or anything, but we are going through with the purchase of Lucy's Auto Shop." He talked about it briefly since Grayson had been in town since August, but nothing had really been concrete until the beginning of the year. "I've got all the details figured out it should officially belong to the Blake brother's in March." He told Grayson, "I know you work at the brewery, but if you wanted any part in this, I'd be happy to have apart of the whole thing." @graysonblakexx
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇
Grayson’s arm stretched along the back of the booth, ankle hooked over his knee like this is no big deal actually listening as Anthony talks. “Yeah, okay,” he nods processing. “That’s… big. So this is actually real-real now. It isn't just one of those ‘we should totally do that someday’ conversations we always have?” He nods again, impressed now. “Of course, you’ve got all the details figured out. Let me guess: color-coded spreadsheets? Contingency plans? Emergency backup for the emergency backup?” He gives a quick grin before letting his voice go quieter and more honest. “That’s good, Anthony. Great for you guys, actually. Seriously. I mean it.” He leans forward a little now, elbows on the table. “yeah, I’ve been at the brewery for a bit now. I like it enough. It works. But…” he shrugs one shoulder, casual but not dismissive. “I don’t know. I’ve never really done the whole long-term thing with anything. So the idea of signing onto something that’s actually permanent? That’s new territory.” Grayson let a small breath out through his nose. Stacking the coffee creamers that were conveniently placed at his side to keep his hands busy. “Okay. I’m not saying no,” he adds quickly. “Just are you sure you me in it?” He meets Anthony’s eyes for a second, thinking. The question was more reassurance for the youngest Blake. His own issues with committing wasn't anything new to the siblings. It was sort of the unspoken truth. “But if you’re asking whether I want to be part of something that has ‘Blake’ on it and doesn’t involve trauma or disaster? Yeah. That’s tempting.” He leans back again, crooked smile returning. “Also, if we’re being honest, I think I’d look good standing in front of a shop we own. It feels ‘reformed delinquent but make it entrepreneurial.’”

"I am for about -" Cohen paused, taking his phone out of his pocket and looking at the time. It was already three in the afternoon and while he didn't necessarily have to be home by a specific time, ever sense becoming a father in November he preferred to be home whenever he could. The sooner the better in his opinion. "At least an hour, maybe two if you keep me entertained long enough." he winked, eyes focusing on his younger brother as he took a step towards him, hand patting the other's back in his attempt at a hug. "I do have real responsibilities." Cohen laughed. "That niece of yours needs attention twenty four seven, but lucky for you I still know how to make time for you." Cohen smiled. "I think I need a beer after the day I had. And some buffalo wings, so, if your plan doesn't include wingman's pub, just go ahead and pivot it, alright?" @graysonblakexx
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◇◆◇
Grayson lets Cohen pull him in halfway before thumping his back once in return, easy grin settling in. “An hour?” he scoffs lightly. “I’ll take it. That’s basically a lifetime in dad-years.” He joked softly. “You think I came over here unprepared? Please. I know you. Hanging out equals beer and something fried. Wingman’s was already the plan.” He quietly pockets his headphones and phone, knowing he won't need them anymore. “And don’t worry, I fully respect the whole ‘I have a tiny human who outranks you’ thing. I’m not trying to compete with her. I’m just trying to make sure you don’t turn into one of those guys who only talks about diaper brands.” He gives his brother a slight smirk. Grayson wasn't sure he'd settle down enough to have kids of his own, or even if he'd want them. But his nieces? He loved them. “Though if you do, I reserve the right to mock you lovingly.” He nudges Cohen’s shoulder. “So what happened? Work shit? Dad shit? Or did you just wake up and decide adulthood is overrated? Because all of those are fair.”

Grayson leans back into his seat before turning towards the unexpecting person that had sat next to him. “I’ve been debating this in my head for a full five minutes and I need opinions.” He sighed, tapping his fingers on the table. “Do we think it’s too late in the day and I shouldn’t go for my second coffee?” He raised an eyebrow. “Because I’m tired and that second cup sounds pretty damn good right now.”

“Alright, Brody.” he says quietly with a tone that is threaded with exaggerated seriousness. “I need it on record that I plan on being the fun uncle.” He glances up at Brody with a casual crooked smile already forming. “I won’t be irresponsible. I will listen to your rules mostly.” Which for Grayson was a big promise. “We talk about teaching them sarcasm before kindergarten, sugar before bedtime, toys that are obnoxiously loud and battery powered. Just… normal uncle things ” He leans back, hands in his pockets. “And if they like me more than Anthony and Cohen, that’s not my fault. That’s just natural charm.”

Grayson slid into the seat across from Anthony and stole one of the fries off Anthony’s plate as soon as he was sitting in the booth. “Don’t start,” he says quickly around the bite before Anthony has a chance to say anything. “You’re the one who left them unattended. That’s on you, really.” He smiles his classic crooked smile before he leaned back against the vinyl seat, stretching his arm along the top. “So are we here because you actually wanted a burger, or because you’ve got something serious brewing and this is your ‘casual diner conversation’ setting?” He hummed. “Because I respect the strategy. This is neutral territory. It has unlimited coke and emotional support fries. That’s a win.”

Grayson was on one of his typical morning runs in the park. One of the new hobbies he had taken up since arriving in Kismet Harbor a year ago. Grayson had just taken a break to change the songs that were playing in his headphones he noticed one of his older brothers standing across the way. “Hey, you free today?” He spoke as he jogged over. “I swear, I’m not here to drag you into any of my plans. I just came to see if you were busy before force you out for coffee. Or beer. It’s a flexible plan.” A small crooked smirk fell on his lips. “And before you say you have ‘real responsibilities,’ I’d like to remind you I can responsibly waste your time.”
