How hard is it to recieve a 2.1 for part 1a natsci? I think im doing horribly at the moment despite being predicted 2.1 by all my supervisors and 1st for one of my modules.
You can trust your supervisors, you are definitely not doing horribly!
I believe that in general it’s a bit more difficult to get from a 2.2 to a 2.1 in science subjects than in arts ones; however, it’s probably still the most common mark to receive. That said, they don’t even list 2.1s and 2.2s separately in the class list for 1a Natsci… so if it is more common, it’s also not such a big deal - I wouldn’t worry too much about it!
99% of natscis will be sitting with their notes atm thinking that they don’t understand anything - I promise that at least some of it will click into place by the time exams come around! Tbh it’s fairly common to get a 2:2 as a natsci; unlike arts subjects there are roughly equal numbers of people who get 2:1s and 2:2s, so if you’re being predicted 2:1s by your supervisors that’s great :) If you feel like you really don’t understand something and need to clarify stuff before mocks (if you have them) then supervisors shouldn’t have any problems with you emailing them over the holiday.
