well, two out of three wasn’t bad. the giant gives a little chuckle of his own, though it’s far more muted than the other’s, and lets his hands fall back to his sides.

“meditating quite frequently, actually.” going home hadn’t exactly been a nice family visit; it was professional and curt and he would not be returning. not for some time. he squares the thought away for now, focusing on their reunion. it’s much more positive, anyway.

“were you busy with anything? or would you like to go for a walk? perhaps a spar ourselves, maybe? i have missed the opportunity.”

it’s nice to know that he is cared for. not like the giant wouldn’t be able to tell with how his team treats him, being reminded is nice. who didn’t like to be told they were missed when they weren’t around?

“not yet,” he shakes his head, “they are training i believe, i’d rather not interrupt such concentration. we have time to catch up anyway, just you and i.” cue the doting yatsu look now, hands on fox’s shoulders as he pats once or twice to feel for muscle mass, overlooks his features for fatigue, even cups his face with a large hand to drag a calloused thumb over his cheekbone. no bags under his eyes. good.

“how have you been keeping? are you sleeping enough? eating properly? not too much sugary snacks after bed, yes?”

“this is just fine.” he’s not great with conversation. more of a ‘to-the-point’ kind of guy. this is the best way he can think to convey what he’d like; i’ve missed you. he missed his whole team, really, but fox gave him a friendship uniquely his own. he likes that.

he sets the huntsman back down on his feet, a smile on his features. “i apologize for my lengthy absence. but now that things have been taken care of at home, i will be around far more. that is a promise.”
