I DO take writing reqs, so long as you are polite and patient. I have an offline life that takes 1st priority, so you may need to wait a bit.

Full disclosure, I've only written f!reader and gn!reader before, but I am open to writing m!reader if you ask nicely and are patient with me while I try something new

I do not take reqs for full-length fics, they are a big time investment that I put a lot of care into, so I choose what I want to write for those. I may open up reqs for full-length fics someday, but I am too busy at present.
You can always ask if I'm comfortable writing a specific thing, and I'll gladly let you know and add it to my will/won't lists.
If the req just doesn't interest me, I won't do it. If you ask off anon, I will be able to let you know I'm not interested in doing the req so you aren't left waiting/wondering.

Zoro takes his role as the protector of the group very seriously and I think that's endearing of him, to always want to protect his friends. However, he shouldn't blame himself when he's not able to and neither berate himself that he needs to get stronger in order to be able to protect everyone.
Take a look at what happened after the Little Garden for example:
It wasn't his fault that he couldn't destroy the candelabra, Nami, Vivi and Brogy who were stuck on the same situation with him couldn't destroy it either. But he would never lay any blame on them. In his mind it should always be him to protect his friends, not the other way around.
Post Thriller Bark, where he asked Kuma to take Luffy's place and he actually survived taking in all of his captains'a pain, and he still thinks he's not strong enough:
He always pushes himself to get stronger, not only to become the greatest swordsman anymore but also to help his captain to become the King of the Pirates.
That's why he swallowed his pride and got on his knees to beg Mihawk to train him for the two years he was separated with the Straw Hats.
And I really get why Zoro is so protective of his friends. He was a child who grew up surrounded by deaths - first his parents and then his best friend, who died so sudden. In this subconscious mind he probably thinks that if he's strong enough, he can prevent losing more people important to him.
I know that he doesn't demonstrate it with words usually but he really loves his nakama and he's always going to great lengths to protect them. And their safety is a motivation that serve him to push himself to become stronger and yet a step closer to his goal.
